NOTICE ON NEXTDOOR

Please Do NOT Leave your DOG POOP BAG in another house's trash can or on the grass or road!!! I don't want you to leave a bag of dog poop in another house's trash can or on the grass at that house while walking your dog from Olney rd to Olney park. This is courtesy between neighbors. Puppies are cute, but dog poop isn't cute. What makes the owner feel dirty will be very dirty to other people, right? If you are as polite to your neighbors as you love dogs, I would be really grateful. please.

For years I've been doing this and I never knew that it was gross or AGAINST THE LAW or that OP didn't like it. Thanks so much for the great advice! LOL. You are right, these bags are terrible. This works for me as I was tired of picking the stuff up anyway. From now on, I'll start doing the "ghost bagging" thing on Olney. My dog dumps and I get the bag out and bend over and spend 10 seconds acting like I'm bagging it, but I'm not really. That bag is empty. When your camera runs the video of me in your yard, you can't tell I didn't actually get the puddle of diarrhea.

Yes. I've lived in the parts of the country, and I have to say Fairfax folks are nuts. Why can't people stay off neighbors' property, clean up after themselves, have their dogs shit in their own yards (or if necessary public places with proper doggy bag disposal). I don't have a big lawn, but I understand why people don't want dogs shitting in their yards. It's gross and it does damage the lawn in neighborhoods with dogs. We have too many irresponsible dog owners/women in Fairfax, e.g. posting from guy above with puppy: it's funny until it's not.

My neighbor sued an obnoxious neighbor for this, finally settled after a temporary restraining order (!) had been issued (want that on your record???) for big bucks. The guy said he talked to her a couple of times (about kids played in yard, upset his dog/barking, damage, leave shit, etc.) , and she still would let her dog shit in his yard. His lawyer then wrote a letter, attached the video (email), filed a complaint with the police and the Fairfax court, she then tried to settle (but he declined at first saying he went through this trouble to make a point, so he wasn't settling for $500 -- but after 9 months, they settled for thousands plus his attorney fees...). Some people learn the hard way.

If you are one of those douches who leaves trash cans out at the curb rather than bringing them in after your trash is picked up, then you have no right to complain if someone drops their dog shit in them. If you can't be bothered to pick up the dog, fox, coyote and cat feces in front of your house, then you have no right to complain about the guy who does pick it up dumping it in your trash can. Your habits are creating a public nuisance.
