Why worry about accuracy when FFX police don't think it's citizens have the right to know what they are doing or even get the names of officers involved in shootings.

We are seriously concerned, and policies MUST change.

It's perfectly alright to have a citizens' based review board for the police, because afterall, the military even has multiple forms of civilian oversight. The only requirement in my view, is that they respect the very individuals who they happen to be overseeing, and they also respect the difficulties of their jobs.

Because the district attorney produced a report that included physics and other wizbang BS to conclude that a police officer jumping in front of a moving vehicle can then claim a life-threatening situation where lethal force is justified for self-defense. Rather than let a court and jury decide if that was BS, they made it simple and didn't file charges.

That is true, but the articles discussing FCPD's unwillingness to apply daylight to their operations also frequently mention Arlington County and Alexandria City police as being equally secretive.

Nick Beltrante is a scam artist in EVERY sense of the word. I have known him personally for over 30 years. He says that he is this big WWII war hero, but all he is a liar. He spent less than a year on a medical navy ship and then faked an injury to get out of his military responsibility. He gives a bad name to all of our brave soldiers of WWII. He used to laugh about all the "ni**ers (racist word) that he used to lock up just for the fun of it in DC as a cop. He said there would be an African American walking down the street with a TV or something and him/his partner would confiscate it and claim the African American stole it. I believe he has joined this cause because he is getting old and is trying to make up for all the bad things he has committed in his life. He has no relationship with his own adult children, has been involved in domestic violence with his ex-wife (Patricia) and had domestic disputes galore, was shady in his background screening/private investigative business (Beltrante & Associates), the list goes on and on. He has paid for awards, he is able to lie about his past jobs/degree/etc because he is so old that there are not very well kept records. He claims to be a lawyer and never received a true juris doctor degree or took any bar exam. It's truly unbelievable the evidence I could provide you. I am truly shocked that his opinion holds ANY water with FFX County.

I am not a lawyer, and I don't play one on TV. But Virginia had, or still has, process known as "reading the law" by which a person can learn the law by working with practicing lawyer or judge for a period of time; then, the person could sit for the bar exam. This was the way it was done before law schools and before the ABA came on the scene.

I know nothing about old man Beltrante or his status as a member of any bar. But it could be that he read the law.

Its funny that an old fart who worked for least trusted department in the area has an opinion about FX CO. At the time he was a cop , his dept.was about as racist as they come. His " police should have no secrets" must be a revelation similar to a murdering convict in prison becoming a religious fanatic.
