Rush Limbaugh and Roger Ailes are two of Fake News' founding fathers, as this well-researched and concise documentary conveys to its audience.
The inundation and brainwashing of the filmmakers' father-- weaponizing the white middle class against our own natural allies while reinforcing its patriarchal characteristics-- has been a critical component to this project's aforementioned success. All corporate news media fabricates, distorts, excludes, and deceives-- at least some of the time-- while Fox News and Right-Wing Talk Radio programs are much more likely to outright lie. They produce the most consistently dishonest "reporting" among America's mainstream journalistic outlets. Elevating the construction of an alternate reality, and its subsequent maintenance, to a form of high art.
One can't help but marvel at the sophistication of their propaganda, the seamless coordination between all centers of Republican / conservative / right-wing culture, and the incredible discipline in their messaging, no matter how absurd or mendacious those messages might be. Looking back at how they did it, and how we got here, is a critical first step towards deradicalizing friends or family members who've plummeted down the far-right rabbit hole. Now more timely than ever, in the wake of Jan. 06, 2021, and upwards of 2-3 dozen shooting sprees, kidnap plots, mail bombs, mosque burnings, and violence against activist demonstrations that've been carried out by self-identified Trump enthusiasts, conservatives, militia groups, neoNazis, and Confederacy fetishists.
