Literally commute every day on this god forsaken road. The traffic is rubbish and I swear I've never seen so many safe drivers in my life. Just yesterday coming down from Route 50 to Little River Tpke, this van pulls up from a cut de sac and starts driving 25 mph leaving a gap the size of Montana between him/her and the next driver. And it isn't the first time, this happens like every freaking time. Can't take 495 since it's a dump. We literally have the worst drivers and worst commute in America.

It sounds like your issue with traffic on Annandale behaves like it is intended to behave, and that you are the problem. I used to take Annandale as an alternate route before I moved. My reasoning was that it was not faster, but it was usually more relaxing.
