census worker rang door bell 11 times already.... how many more times?

my house has a door bell system that records a 10-second video whenever
someone presses the doorbell. it can only see the person standing directly
in front of the door. on 11 different occasions, the same census worker
has been here.. Why? Are they just too bored? Or too dense to get my
intentions?

Census Bureau's own website indicate that they can only come knocking
3 or 6 time maximum... or do they not have to follow their own rule?

Anyone that persistent deserves a job with Verizon selling FIOS

Oh yeah, you're really helping your community by answering every question that doesn't matter. I know a guy who worked for the census, and he quit, then his boss was fired. He said it's all one big massive joke, and the Census Bureau is so screwed up and inept, that it's not even worth it.

Too fucking lazy to to fill out the census form? Thanks for cost the rest of us more money to send someone out then you act like a douche about. My crazy neighbor did the same thing, at least he answered the door looking for black helicopters and refused to answer any questions. They came to my house and I gave them everything they needed about him. Catch the next flight to a taliban encampment.

Actually it only costs half of the rest of us... only 53% of working Americans pay federal income tax after exemptions, credits and deductions.

The census form used by enumerators (the people going door to door) provides for a maximum of 6 (some have 4) contacts, so I don't know why this one continues to contact you. Did they leave a contact sheet with a phone number for the local office? When you cannot get someone to answer the door the fallback is to ask a neighbor, but if that fails you just move on. The Census Bureau knows that they will not get 100% completion.

Is there some special reason why you refuse to respond? I know that the 2000 census was a bit intrusive, but I hardly see what is objectionable about asking how many people live in your household and their age and gender.

OMG! I never answer the census. The government uses the census to figure out what type of mind control devices to implant. The mind control devices are used to assimilate Americans into an alien civilization run from Area 51.

I think it is funny how all these "strict Constructionists" like Michelle Bachmann are bitching about the socialist Census when the Census is MANDATED by the U.S. Constitution. The Tea Baggers keep talking out of their asses.

The definition of crazy; a guy who watches a census worker ring his bell 11 times on video and then has the time to comment upon it in an Internet forum, rather than filling out a very simple form.

Your IP address that was logged when you originally commented upon this will leave more of a footprint back to you than your census form ever will.

All the info the census needs is on your tax return, just more big government intrusion into peoples lives.

Show some backbone instead of hiding behind the curtains. Answer the census. It's very short. They have access to much more information on you in other departments but can't share the information with census. Wait till financial 'reform' gets passed and the banks have to transmit every transaction you've ever made to the new consumer financial 'protection' agency.

BTW, the census fires the temp census workers after 4 or 5 weeks to keep them under the minimum financial eligibility for unemployment insurance benefits.

because it does NOT ask about my US citizenship.
Until this question is included, they can knock
on my door all they want... take my door down if
needed, but I will not answer any question until
I'm allowed to say "Yes" on my citizenship status.

And the point of that is what exactly? Is this your small way of protesting our country's lack of immigration control and enforcement? Do you think that that will help track all of the people who are not here legally? If so, you are missing the point of the census, but feel free to ignore it if that makes you feel better. As noted previously, you are providing a LOT more information about yourself involuntarily every day which I would be much more concerned about.

Uh, if you didn't fill out a Census form and an illegal immigrant did - they are counted and you are not. Which will ultimately go a lot further to improve their situation and not yours. Way to go.

The Census is to count those in the country and who is using services, it is not just for citizens. Its a tool used to calculate where services should be concentrated. Don't fill it out, you are just screwing yourself in the long run.

Perhaps if they ARE here illegally, that shouldn't matter for services in any case. If we don't count them, then we don't have to setup services to cover them - and then they would probably go back home. Just showing the opposite side of the argument.

I returned my Census form the same way it came in - in pristine condition, unmarked. No need to risk a $100 penalty for not sending in the form or a $500 for providing inaccurate information.
