Why not eliminate the need for school names completely and just number the schools, I.e. Elementary School (ES 1)? This whole renaming issue is a colossal waste of time.

Or, maybe for those students who attended a racially insensitively named school should get reparations. This would be every student that attended because there's no way to gauge the emotional damage they've sustained! For example, Mount Vernon High School was named for a slavery plantation, that School was built in the 1930's. All of those who attended there harbor serious emotional problems associated with their entrenched guilt.

1. They are not renaming schools instead of reopening them. They are renaming schools instead of trying to improve the quality of education occurring at those schools.
2. They do it because renaming is easy. Just throw money at it. Improving the quality of education is hard. It means changing how classes are structured and how teachers teach. It means re-allocating priorities and resources away from high profile goodies that school systems like to showcase, but which do not benefit large numbers of students. It means also holding students and parents accountable for the failure of s to acquire the necessary minimum knowledge and skills rather than putting the blame solely on classroom teachers and in school administrators.

Fairfax needs to give all school employees a pay raise. Prince William,Stafford and Fauquier are all giving raises to their entire school staff this year. If you want to see us improve then give us more money!

Move where you can get more money then. You are not a hostage in Fairfax County. That is what everyone else does in their chosen profession. Kinda hard to be a shrimp boat captain and make a living wage in Denver Colorado.

They are renaming them because it works.

About 20 years ago in Missouri they renamed a school after MLK. Since then, there's no more racism in that town and everyone loves all the niggers.

Don't we want that for us?

Anything to avoid going back to work! They hate their jobs! They hate parents! They hate the kids! They need a paycheck and benefits and are not qualified to do anything else. They gonna stay home forever not get vaccinated and say they cannot go back to work because they are not vaccinated.

DanKnows As a graduate of MV Highschool I can assure you that what you just wrote is complete BS. Oh and no blacks went to MV until the mid 1960s and it was an improvement over the segregated schools they attended before then. Civil rights activists fought for the right of blacks to attend FCPS now those given the right to attend should be paid reparations for having to attend? Lol.
