They don't work. Numerous peer reviewed studies have shown that the benefits are near nothing and potentially slightly harmful in some cases. Some studies have been posted here, but facts don't matter to the public these days.

The primary benefit of masks is a social construct to enable a fragile public to "feel like" they have some sense of control and the ability "feel safe" until more certainty arrives via scientific advancement and remedy development.

People seem to frequently forget;

1) If you can buy/make a mask out of any material at all - and that counts to meet a legal requirement...and the media claims "masks work"...are you really buying that?

2) Areas that have more than 98% mask compliance have been pounded with higher than ever numbers of cases recently. If masks work, why?

3) Scientists know for a fact that RNA Covid droplets average 4µ to 12µ in size. The BEST N95 masks (which very few people have or can obtain) are only good to around 25µ to 30µ.
