1. Pick a sign you like

2. Ram it with your car

3. get out of car with shovel

4. Whack yourself in the head till stupid(er)

5. Whack yourself with shovel some more

6. Extend wrists for police to apply handcuffs

That's an excellent question. All street signs are put on with counter clockwise(or sync) bolts to keep people from stealing them.

I think if you go to Home Depot and look in the wrench section you can find a "reverse plumbers tool" or what is called in the HVAC industry "a left handed wrench." (red & white handle wrench)

If you can't find one ask the sales person. If the sales person asks you why you need one tell him you are replacing the HOT water value stem in a shower or bath tub.(Hot water value stems have counter clockwise sync threads also)

I think a left hand plumbers tool\wrench cost about $43.

(Oh yeah, don't forget, the first time you use a left handed wrench you need bang it on your forehead as hard as you can three or four times to activate the kryptonite molecules)

Why don't you just buy the signs online?

I remember a few years back these 20 somethings stole a stop sign. A few hours later there was a huge accident and 3 people died. They were charged with manslaughter and convicted. They got 15 years in prison, with a minimum of 13 actually served. In 2001 they got the charges dropped on appeal, but not after serving 18 months. The only reason they got off is that the prosecution couldn't prove they stole the sign in question. You might want to get your personal stuff in order in case you have to go to prison before you take the signs.

Cheaper and saves on shipping costs to steal them. Plus it's hard to get customized street signs with street names on them that you need.

umm... what level of crime is stealing one? you may want to consider this if it's a felony because there is a law in VA that a felony is a MANDATORY 6 months in jail, even for something stupid.

way to actually cite the law there, gravis. you make a claim like that, and you have to back it up with numbers and dots and squiggly lines and shit.

please reread my post. notice i asked, "what level of crime is stealing one? you may want to consider this if it's a felony"

i know your donkey on midget child porn, Hehaw Small Kiddies 8 can be distracting so please refrain from watching it and reading the forum at the same time.

you may want to reread your own post, where you explicitly say that one MUST do six months in jail minimum for a felony.

You said there is a law for THAT.... I am asking you to cite that law. I apologize if I assumed you were intelligent enough to make the distinction on your own.

i am the victim of ambiguity! however, i dont need to give a reference because i dont give a damn. perhaps mr congressmen knows this law. then again, he may think the internet is a dump truck because it's clearly a series of tubes.

why would you want to steal them? have you seen what the birds do to them?

you can easily pick up a spanking new genuine traffic sign on fleaBay.
Just make sure it's a reputable seller with at least 10,000 positive
feedbacks.

I have a left handed wrench, screw driver and hammer. Buy all three for $100 and I will throw in a left handed flashlight for free. Why an I selling them? I have decided I am right handed after all.

Go to southeast DC to steal you some signs. The cops are so busy over there they dont have time for sign thieves. Just go up to any of the brothers on the corner and tell them how you are from Virginia and you want to stick it to the man by stealing the signs. Then show them how you have money enough to buy them if you wanted but being a true rebel you are going to just take them.
I am sure a couple will help you out in your cause.

All you need is a hex key. Comes right off in minutes. Stealth. Easy.

If you're serious, go the day before and spray the shit outta the bolts that hold it on the pole with WD40. Then when you go to steal it, the bolts will come out easily. And yes, its a hex wrench. At least they were in Fairfax County in the 1980's.
