FCPS Schoolboard decides to Sub in Schools to Prove the safety of reopening
Posted by: Bro of TeacherBro ()

The FCPS School Board has decided each member will volunteer as a substitute in reopened schools without a mask (because masks are optional for students) to prove how safe reopening is.

Nah, JK son. That would be real leadership. Instead they spend 7 hours on a meeting to decide nothing. They say they want everyone back in school with hundreds to thousands of people while they meet virtually. So these 12 people are afraid to meet in person, but are deciding it's okay to send thousands of people together in a confined space. Also, masks are optional for students. There is NO CONSEQUENCE for students who don't wear a mask. FCPS's mask policy is "it's cool if you don't wear a mask."

P.S. Masks are optional in FCPS schools. Did anyone mention about the masks being optional?

Are the kids really now allowed to wear masks?

Yeah right, like anyone on the School Board or from Central Office would ever step up to do this. They’re happy to send teachers and IAs back, though. The kids don’t have to wear a mask if their parents get an exemption. Most of the students going back have serious disabilities and won’t keep masks on. FCPS knows this and doesn’t care because it’s not their asses on the line. They don’t really have enough PPE for the workers either and there are no subs dumb enough to work in person right now. So people won’t call out sick when they should. None of the parents are honest and keep their kids home when sick, either. Ask anyone who has ever worked in special ed and they’ll tell you the same thing. None of the staff wants to go back in person because they’ll get spit on and bitten and have to change diapers all day. This isn’t about education it’s about FCPS not getting sued by angry parents who usually expect the schools to do this type of thing during the day and call it special education. There will be no one to replace the staff when they either get sick or quit.

As someone who has only missed 1 week of work since March you just can't imagine how revolting it is to read the OP's opening whine.

I work in a cube farm setting with other people. We don't wear masks. And not a single person has tested positive yet.

Go back to school or quit and let someone else do your job.

What part of that is incorrect? If you think it's so easy, graduate and sign up to sub.

No one asked for your life story bro. This other teacherbro makes a good point. Schools may open for a little while, but soon they will close again. This will disrupt learning and routine for teacher, student, and parent alike. We must all agree to keep schools virtual learning for the rest of this school year.

When the school board closes schools again because of the outbreak, you can remember teacherbro. You will say, "I knew he was right, but I didn't want to admit it." There is no need for an apology, I forgive you. We are all in this together. Except the school board. They are only in it for themselves.

It's a tough question about getting thousands of people back to school. Yes, I think wearing masks is one of the key points of going back to school and keeping students safety. To some extent, I agree that distance learning needs to be stopped. Why is that? I understand from personal experience how difficult this process is. There was a conversation among my classmates about a website https://studymoose.com/safety that bails them out during their studies when writing various papers. On this website, I was recently able to find essays on the topic of safety. I hope that in the near future the management of educational institutions will make the right choice to improve education and return students to their studies.

The agenda of the Teaching Lobby is well known. Keep the students out of the classrooms and force FCPS to employ its full educational staff in virtual classrooms. They have devoted little attention to encouraging the adoption of procedures that would make a return to in classroom education as safe as possible, because that would undermine their position that the students should not be allowed to return.

I have some problems and the topic of education is the most relevant for me now. Do any of you know how to write a personal statement?

How To Write A Personal Statement can be found here, because it is very important. A personal statement can either improve your life or help you fail. From your personal statement, you can immediately see what kind of person you are and what you want to achieve. The employer, the enrollment commission are all the people who will judge you on this letter.
