Can I report roadkill somehow for cleanup?
Posted by: John Q Public ()

I just ran over a small animal. Is there some number I can call to report it so it will be cleaned up? It's in a residential neighborhood, so it would be nice if they could get it cleaned up before the kids walk out to the bus stop in the morning.

People that run over animals go to hell.

What about the little squirrels you tortured as a child? Won't you go to hell for that as well?

If it's on your own street, then use a shovel and a trash bag. The animal people around here don't pick-up anything. An acquaintance of mine had a dead deer on her front porch, and no one would come to remove it.

Then again, Vdot might send a clean-up crew or street-sweeper if you call them.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of VDOT. I was thinking police or animal control or something. I called and reported it. For future reference, the number to call is 800-367-ROAD (7623) (TTY users, call 711).

If it's on a state maintained highway, it's VDOT's problem.

If it's on private property, it's the property owner's problem.

What kind of sick perverted person would run over a small animal, leave it in the street and then ask someone else to clean it up. You must be a Democrat.

Pick that carcass up and cook it up! Recycle! It's the least you can do, you cruel-hearted rodent killer!

The fact that you're using the phrase "small animal" instead of just saying squirrel or rabbit concerns me. Fess up, you ran over your neighbor's cat, right?

Because if kids realize animals can die, or that living things can be killed if they get hit by a car, they may stop having fun by boarding down the driveway into the open road.

There is a dead deer on Guinea Rd, near Braeburn that has been there for the better part of three weeks. It is near the stream valley so it is not in front of any houses so no one has bother to pick it up. But, someone did bother to cut its head off maybe two weeks ago.

Do you suppose it is hanging on a wall somewhere? Very strange.

VA is too poor, do it yourself. We need the money for Cuccinelli's vendettas against real and imagined enemies of god

I hadn't thought of that.

I'm pretty sure it was a rabbit, BTW. It was done for in any case.

Dead Moose

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a dead moose free for the taking.

It died yesterday, apparently of natural causes. I called Fish & Game to come and get it. Apparently, moose are a natural resource and belong to everybody, until they die, then they belong to whoevers property they die on. So, according to Fish & Game, the moose now belongs to me. Sweet!!

So, if you want a free moose, please come and get it before the bears do.

You could use it for dog food, or stuff it and put it your front yard, bear bait, whatever. If you live in the lower 48, this might be your best opportunity to get a free Alaska moose. I dont really care, I just want it out of my yard.

Please reply via email, I dont need all the animal rights folks calling me, its dead, and according to Fish & Game, its got no more rights...

People from Fauquier and Culpeper will do it for free, eat it, and thank you for the dinner.

Hillarious. Poor bunny, though. Thanks for the number! I've been wondering about it for a long time.
