There are a few stupid teens in my neighborhood that insist in speeding.... Can I report them to the police if I know where they live? Can they be given citations based on my complaint?

As much as I love Johnny Walker... I dont love that response. Please tell me what I can do rather then trying to run after the car telling them to SLOW DOWN!!!! They are going to hit someone someday!

contact FCDOT and have them do a traffic count. if you qualify, they can add some traffic calming devices.

You can call the non-emergency number of the police and file a complaint. These days, the police would love information on where people speed.

No cop is going to give a citation based on your complaint. You might get a cop to come out and have a talk with the kids, but they aren't going to issue shit if they don't see it themselves.

You can complain to the cops; they may or may not send someone out there to sit around waiting for them to speed by, depending on how well-trafficed the road is. You can talk to their parents if you know where they live. You can try to get your neighborhood association, if you have one, to put in speed humps and/or more stop signs.

I don't picture an Andy of Mayberry situation where a FFX CO cop comes out and gives them a stern talking-to, though I suppose it's possible, and to give them a ticket the cop has to witness the infraction.

I saw with my bare eyes the car speeding!!! I heard the engine roaring!!!! It was deffinatley going extremely over 20 mph the limit of 25 mph!!! It was clear!!

Call your local police station and file a complaint that this is a recurring problem.

The old folks in my neighborhood yell at cars on a daily basis to slow down even though they are going under the limit. Sorta of a keep off my grass thing or the next time the frisbee goes in my yard I am keeping it.

Some bitch yelled at me the other day to slow down. The speed limit is 25. I slowed to under 20 because I saw her and her child biking in the street, coming the wrong way, and about 15' out into my "lane". I couldn't believe it.

We've got the same ass wipes in my neighborhood as well. Not the old folks. The young idiots, illegal immigrants, and burnouts going warp speed down my street. We have neighbors who put out the little "kids playing" portable signs, but I don't think it helps much. When I hear that shit coming down the street I feel like running out and tossing a 2x8 with nails facing up. That would slow their asses down.

It forces those illegals driving thier flamed up Civics with fart pipes and turbos, to spend a little of that hard earned tax-free money stimulating our economy by making them buy a whole new set of tires. My husband actually received a notification in the mail that someone reported his car being operated in a reckless manner - and it was totally him, he's like that sometimes. Anyway, someone provided his license plate number along with a location, date & time and sure enough - there it was in the mail. It took like a month to get here but we got it.

It isn't a citation or anything but maybe it will let them know that someone is watching. Also, the letter will be addressed to whoever the vehicle is registered to - aka their parents - so they might chew this ass a bit too.

maybe they have somewhere important to go? Just tell your kids not to play in the street, and there shoudlnt be a problem. Hell, speed along with them, you will get to your destination faster

I have the perfect solution to put and end to this immediately... The next time they come roaring down your street, just go run out in front of them. But you have to time it just right so that way they wont have time to stop and they run you over...

Unless you have a way of videotaping it, and proving on the tape who it is, and what they're doing wrong. Buy a calibrated radar gun, or ask to borrow one maybe (If you buy it yourself, it would probably have to be confirmed by the police department as being calibrated to within their standards, in order for it to hold up in court).

If they are doing things other than speeding, such as running stop signs, or whatever else, then you can prove that in a far simpler manner.

Yeah, I remember some of my friends used to jack those portable signs. I don't remember it doing much either.

My asshole neighbor, the one who used to be JAG, and the same one who ran his van into snowbanks last Winter, used to speed like a complete nut in my neighborhood. I remember when I was younger, and he opened up his glovebox, when suddenly a lifetime's worth of traffic tickets came pouring out (Which had all been accrued within a year or less). So finally, after I didn't like him anymore, I just yelled at him to slow down as he drove by one day. Ever since then, he never speeds when he sees me outside.

Oh yeah, it was funny too, because he knew the Police Chief of FCPD, and he provided legal advice for the Chief regarding a boating accident Lol. Too ironic.

Call the district station in which you live in (you can find out at the FFX Police web site - police -> district stations) and you can make PSA request - which basically alerts the officers working in the area, during the problem time frame, of the problem. An officer/officers will check it out. You cannot make the police issue the kid a warrant for a speeding offense if they don't witness it, and they can only do so much. They will check it out, but you obviously cannot get a guarantee because the police may not witness the problem and there are not resources for the police to sit out there and wait for the kid. But I do promise that once a problem is reported, officers will check it out.

Now I just pray that people that live in the area don't start complaining about the police issuing tickets. I wish people would understand that police are issuing tickets because citizens request it.
