VA Car Registration

Ok so im trying to register a car in fairfax county that has dead tags. When i go to DMV do they ask for tiltle, Proof of insurance and then give me a time limit to get the car to pass inspections? Im dont know how this proccess works. Its a used car i bought from a friend.

Help me FFX Underground!

They don't ask for a physical proof of insurance, you must get it though. This guy will nail your ass for 5 years on SR-22

safety inspection is your civil respectability. DMV does not control that.

What about Emissions dont they ask if it passes or something?

Based on my personal experience;
I call my insurance agent and gave him the V ID number. He puts it under my insurance. Then when you go to DMV you won't have to lie. In the aplication you can put, this car is insured in the state of VA. They don't care about the safety inspection. DMV does not control safety inspections. You have to get that though.
They will allowed to register with decals good for 30 days till you get the vehicle emissions done ( smog inspection)
when you get a chance get the

meant to say, responsibility. Emissions must be done. They would give you a 30 days to get that done.

i know it's good to have something to do while you wait, but if you wanted to do it before you go in....

also good if you're going to one of the small places that do titles & registrations only (so no/short wait, usually).

bring this form and an ID... and know the title/vin numbers.
