Good auto body repair shop
Date: March 22, 2005 04:28PM

I got in an accident a while ago and I've been asking a few people I know if they know of any good auto body shops. Unfortunatly, all my friends are drawing a blank. Basically one of my rear panels got a bit banged up and will either wind up being bent back to shape and painted or replaced and obviously painted. Anyone have any ideas?

Take the money and don't fix the car?

That's what I do when people hit me! Cash in the bank!

I don't know if my shop Casey's (Chantilly) does body work, but they're very dependable and honest.

http://www.caseysautomotive.com/

Morty's off Willard in Chantilly does a lot of insurance work, but they were not at all friendly to me when I went in to get an estimate before reporting an accident to someone else's insurance co. They do, however, ALWAYS have a ton of work in their lot. And I drove by their lot every day for almost two years on my way to work Take that as a sign of something, good or bad.

I've heard horror stories about Chantilly Automotive (I think the name is) on the corner of Willard and Stonecroft.

I don't know much outside of Chantilly. I have a list of body shops all around the area that Progressive gave me after one of my accidents, I might still have that and be able to dig it up, though it wouldn't be any different than opening the yellow pages.

Don't really have any personal experience, sorry.

Something is better than nothing. I think I've driven by morty's several times before. Hopefully there'll be some more input, but we'll see.

Chantilly Auto Body (I think that's the name, the one ben was talking about at willard and stonecroft across the street from the bowling alley) did a good job on my accord when I crashed it a couple years ago. But they're expensive as hell, and I have heard horror stories about them too.

If you're looking for real cheap, take it to Chantilly Academy's Auto Body II class (attached to the back of Chantilly high school). Mr. Brown's class does a great job and if they mess it up he makes them do it again. You'll basically only be paying for parts and paint. I'm not sure who you have to talk to, but you can try calling the main academy line at (703) 222-7461 and asking them.

I have also heard good things about Quality Auto Body off of 50 in Fairfax City, but I've never used them myself.

Don't Go To Morty's

What ever you do, don't use Morty's. The man is a crook. I took an old LandCruiser into his shop, he didn't work on it for a week and when he did he screwed it all up. He set the timing and did not tighten the bolt on the distibuter. A mile down the rode my truck stopped working and he could care less. I ended up having to tow the car and asked for my money back. He told no and I stopped payment on the check.

I have used Pope's Auto Body for years and they will do a good job.

Thanks for all the help guys. I'll most likely be calling/stopping by some of the places and see what they have to say as well. Also to see how busy they are as the other persons insurance only gave me a 3 day rental, although they said they'd take care of extra costs in case it takes longer. But who trusts insurance companies to be truthful?

I know the thread is old, but I wanted to post the really good experience I had with Lee-High Auto Body (8810 Lee Hwy). I had a nasty hit-and-run happen to my Chevy this month. The accident pushed in the door right at the hinge and also bent the front fender / quarterpanel.

I shopped three places (Lee-High, Dominion Autobody by Fairfax circle, and another place in Falls Church) and Lee-High's estimate was by far the lowest. They did a great job. It took over a week -- they take their time -- it's small operation, but they saved me about $700, which was important for me because I paid out-of-pocket. And the finished product looks fantastic. Perfect color match, great body work. Check them out.

I don't know the name of the place, but it is next to Red Lobster and across the street from Hooters in Fairfax Circle/Fair Oaks. Everyone I know uses the place.

If you're near the Springfield/Annandale area, you should check out Dan & Max, right off the intersection of Braddock Rd and 495. They're friendly guys and they do a good job. And the prices are very reasonable as well. I've had several good experiences with them.

I NO OF AN AUTO BODY SHOP NOT TO GO TO . IT'S THE FX IMPORTS AUTO BODY ON SPRING ROAD RIGHT OFF OFF FX BLVD (RT50/29) NEAR THE FX CIRCLE.

AVOID THIS SHETHOLE AS IF IT WERE INFESTED WITH THE BLACK PLAGUE.

AND IT'S SO TREACHEROUSLY RECOMMENDED BY THREE LOCAL DEALERSHIPS TO KEEP THE SUCKERS ROLLING IN, STARTING WITH ROSENTHAL HONDA (FX HONDA) RIGHT DOWN THE STREET ON RT50 WEST (RIGHT AFTER THE 29/50 SPLIT TO THE RIGHT)

IT'S A SHAME HOW THESE FLY BY NIGHT OPERATIONS ? ARE ABLE TO 'STAY AFLOAT' THRU THE RELIANCE OF SIMPLY HAVING 'THE NEXT SUCKER' TO WALK IN THE DOOR.

FX IMPORT AUTO BODY - STAY AWAY !!!

Dude, we aren't taking advice from someone who types in capital letters and can't spell three words in a row. Go back to school, you loser.

Hey, "Dude Can't Spell', your obviously some really bored punk fag that has nothing to do but interfere with the true mission of this website.

I'm sure Cary Weidmann, the creator, would agree, and I am requesting here that he remove all of your dead weight remarks from this website, 'cause your obviously a worthless waist of life piece of garbage!

No one here ever claimed or claims to be some sort of English Major or something of the sort, they are simply trying to help people avoid dead-beat places like this:

FX IMPORTS AUTO BODY, a clearly lousy, purely low-life place that anyone in their right minds would want to totally avoid ever having any type of any business experience with.

I unfortunately, have had the unfortunate pleasure of doing business with this theiving scum-sucking business as well, and it really, truely is an extremely crooked business.

And if you try to get the rotten service corrected, they fix one thing and damage or steal two or three or even four others until it evolves into them refusing to do business with you at all and barring you from the place with the promise to press charges for trespassing, in which in the same stroke, voids any implied warranty on the fraudulant service provided! (classic, rotten business practices)

You sound like and MUST BE one of those low life criminal ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS being ILLEGALLY hired to to work there.

I verify the warning info on what the original commenter on this so-called FX IMPORTS AUTO BODY REPAIR SHOP off of FX BLVD. on Spring Rd. is providing. Both I and two other people I know, have had the same similar nightmarish experience with this, what is clearly an ongoing criminal operation.

BE WARNED! Stay away from this place, and FURTHER, be totally warned of the very likely possibility of a business NAME CHANGE, another classic manuever by businesses like these.

I would stay away from places like this FX HONDA dealership as well. If you have a Honda, go to, for example, an Acura dealership to get any type of work done, or any more reputable place. Better yet, check with the BBB (Better Business Bereau) easily found on the internet.

It is becoming well known that these types of places are also major employers of ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. If they do this sort of illegal thing, then why would any 'holes be barred' to be performing all sorts of other illegal crap.

Be warned, Q-public. And don't pay any attention to dead-beat remarks being posted by low-life pukes like 'Dude Can't Spell'. He's obviously one of the criminal Illegal Immigrant illegals working at one of these 'side-shaw' RIPOFF so-called places that call themselves a business.

To help everyone with similar questions like this one, go to RIPOFFREPORTS.com, and save yourself a whole lot of precious time and money in the future.

And PAY ATTENTION to the BBB reports. The local/state/national law enforcement government agency's that are sucking the life out of the Taxpayer's(you)as well are doing absolutely nothing to 'hinder' these blood-sucking places from ripping you off as well.

Have a nice life, all you Sucker's out there that are not 'paying attention'!
