Where have the onion rings gone?

Anyone know what is going on with onion rings being removed from fast food menus?

Arby's, Popeye's, and BK have stopped selling Onion rings.

Any info?

I love onion rings but most fast food rings are pretty gross. Onion rings take more time and attention to cook than standard fast food menu fried items. Also, rings go limp and soft and squelchy within a short time, so they have to be cooked within minutes to be good. This means there is significantly less profit margin on them. Not saying this is the complete answer but it factors into the corporate decision.

If you love them, make your own, they are way better.

What difference does it make said Hillary about Benghazi. It sounds like Democrats resolve to defend our national borders and national defense while defunding our police and letting people out of prison then giving passes to BLM to resist arrest

Popeyes had actual onion rings not minced up onions. They would not cook them until ordered. It was worth the wait, usually five minutes or less.

Onion rings don't fit well on the typical fast food menu. An order will get you maybe 5-6 pre-made frozen rings that were simply dumped into the deep fryer.

As a kid I HATED onions. But when eating fast food, although I would never go out my way to order them, I found I could tolerate the fake assed BK onion rings. None of the nastiness of real onions just sort of weird battered deep fried rings that didn't taste like real onions.

Deep frying oil is usually 350-375 degrees and onion rings are thin enough that cooking them for a 2 to 4 minutes should kill all the bacteria.
