Reasonably priced place to pack & ship things?

I went to the UPS store to ship a piece of electonics, a table radio I was selling on ebay. The shipping itself was reasonable, but they charged something over $20 to pack it in a cardboard box with some sort of padding, those air packs or something. Yes, I could pack it myself but that would involve hunting down the right size box and all. Is there any place that will do this for less? What about those fedex locations in office stores, are they cheaper?

new or old radio... (aka small or huge?)...

you can get free USPS boxes through eBay if it's small enough to fit in a flat rate box then there you go.

also pick up packing peanuts (or whatever you prefer) from staples.

keep them with the boxes for the next thing you sell on eBay.

If it's over three pounds and is crossing into a different USPS zone, then you will probably be better off shipping it by FedEx. When I used to sell on eBay, I used them for all my heavy shipping and for shipping boxes that are bigger than 12x12x12.

You can create an account on FedEx's website and print postage from your computer. I've shipped packages for $5-$8 dollars with FedEx that would have cost me $17-$20 to ship with USPS. I packed the things myself, so I don't know what FedEx charges for packing, but it would probably be cheaper for you to go to Staples or Office Depot and get a box.
