97 Subaru Impreza-- love it, but it is slowly turning into a POS.

04 Ranger-- gotta have something to haul plywood and mulch in.

93 Mercedes 300E (only 76K on the odo)-- My wife's car that some asshat driving a Navigator managed to rear end in stop and go traffic last week. Hopefully it will come back from the body shop looking ok.

Fast but has 125k miles on it. The engine is still strong but everything else is starting to die.

Needs a bigger turbo.

What's wrong with the car?

If you're considering selling it, I might be interested in picking it up at some point. I need a good platform for a rally car and a 2.5RS would be ten times better than working with my legacy.

Assuming it's a 2.5RS that is.

1983 Pontiac Grand Prix LJ 5.0

This is the same platform as the old Monte Carlo SS and it has the engine out of a Camaro: four barrel Rochester. I have a brand new alternator (it's chrome) and carb. Working on the sound...having wiring troubles right now.

1968 Chevrolet Corvair Convertible

This car is in great mechanical shape and was repainted in 1998.

Looks like an old-man 4 door sedan so it gets overlooked by cops but has a supercharger so it can move.

1994 Ford Ranger Supercab XLT, the 2.3L I-4 has only 99 fwhp, which is purely weak, but the 5-spd helps.

The truck is basically POS, but with its cargo capacity, and 20mpg average in this area (more with traffic that doesn't stop and go), it was a good set of college wheels, and it's the best thing for me until I can get something newer (maybe an 03 WRX or something similar).

My fiancee drives an 01 VW Jetta, 1.8 turbo. Now this is a set of wheels I can enjoy, although a 5-spd would help.

My 97 Subaru is before they started putting the 2.5L engine into the imprezas, it only has a 2.2. Other than that there isn't anything wrong with it, it just isn't quite as quick as it used to be, it could use some shocks and struts, keeps getting dings in the Dulles parkign lot etc...

With a car that tops out at 2K in the KBB it just isn't worth fixing those things. Another year or two, and hopefully I can upgrade to one of the new Legacys. Leather seats would be nice.

This sucks, I just heard back from the body shop and there is a decent chance they are going to declare my wife's Mecedes totaled. It is still prefectly driveable maybe I can take the insurance payout for the totaled car and get a no name shop to Bondo it up for me for a hundred bucks.

This is true, but talk to your insurance company about buying the car back. If it's truly totaled, you can probably buy it back for a few hundred dollars.

Two of my friends are going through this right now- her car was rear-ended and totaled (old Toyota 'Rolla) with only minor rear-end damage, and her fiance is buying the car back to use as a daily driver. The insurance company is selling it back for next to nothing. We're planning on pounding out the dents and figuring out how to make the trunk close properly again.

If it's not a 2.5RS then what model is it? Impreza L sedan?
In any case, I wouldn't be keeping the original engine. I'm already planning to swap in a 2.5T out of a wreck. So if you're planning on getting rid of it, keep me in mind.

It is the Impreza model before they introduced the Impreza 2.5RS.

If we end up selling it i'll try to put it up here first.

Totally agree. There are very little things I wouldn't do to get one of these cars. I post over at e60.net (which is the model of the new 5 series), and they have videos of people in Europe recieving their m5's and just laying it out all over the place. Makes the special place in my pants very happy.

Yessir...I can't wait for the M3 though. I'll pick one up either end of the year or beginning of next year. I want to do it some time in the winter when most people aren't looking to buy M3's, and I'll keep the Integra to drive around in the cold winter. Only problem I have is whether I should buy a new one, or buy a used one and wait for the new E90 series M3 to come out in about 2 years...it'll be the new body style with 400 horses and a first time ever V-8 engine...what a dilemma.

Got the 300E back from American Service Center. They did an awesome job the only indication that there might have been a wreck is that the new paint looks better than the old, but there is not sudden line where you can tell where then new paint stops and the old paint starts.

Thank god now I can stop driving the truck in our itty bitty garage at work.

Nope, they actually all do get driven. I have a thing for cars especially the old English Jaguars.. The Suburban is getting ready to go, gonna sell it. The Jags get driven on the weekends (except for when shopping calls for the Vue) and the Saturns are weekday cars due to the commute. I still have room for 2 more cars on the paved parking area 80's model Bently is next.... Can't wait. My husband says I like the cars more than him, and sometimes I agree.

(1) do you really think that's funny?

(2) don't worry about the color. i'll just do a bit of researching, find out who the fuck you are, and then you'll know which color -- i'll be the one who kicks your fucking sideview mirror off your car and throws ball bearings through your windshield.

see, i can be funny too, fucktard. go try to off yourself again -- only try harder this time, please.
