FIRST REAL ESTATE TAX PAYMENT DEADLINE EXTENDED TO AUG. 28
The county extended the deadline to pay the first installment of real estate taxes until Friday, Aug. 28.

Normally, the first installment is due July 28.

I haven't had any income for nearly 6 monthes. 30 days will give me a chance to panhandle over by the government center to raise enough cash to pay the bill.

Ain't Fairfax County the best?

Fairfax taxpayers did NOT get a break. The tax that will be paid in August is the same amount that would have been payable in July. The delay also has nothing to do with Fairfax County officials being sympathetic to the plight of Fairfax County residents. The reason for it is that the Fairfax County tax offices could not manage to get out the real estate tax bills in a timely manner. We are currently three weeks out from the original due date and most people I know still have not received their bills.

The Fairfax school system will bleed us dry with their increase in taxes. They have a open check book to BLEED us dry.

These rules are changing all the time and sometimes it is really hard to detect each innovation. I already posted my review on the tax preparation service HR Block here https://hr-block.pissedconsumer.com/review.html , probably someone will recommend another good tax service.
