Optometrists in Fairfax

Finally time for me to get glasses (made it to 49 without them). I checked Washington Checkbook some fair info there but I wanted to ask here for recommendations of a good place to go get my first pair ever.

Check out Dr. Khalil in Reston, VA. I know some folks who started going to him when their Optometrist left the region.

go see a real eye doctor an Ophthalmologist
Richard Falls is probably one of best in Northern Virginia has offices in Tysons Corner and Merrifield
Might take a month or so to get in but you can probably get by on drugstore glasses till then

If you just need a refraction, there is no reason to go to an MD. Besides, a lot of insurance plans won't pay for refractions given by ophthalmologists.
