I would NOT surrender the tags. Funny how these assholes at the Motor Vehicle Administration are trying to use Nazi pressure tactics to march in a take his rightful property, like a band of pirates under the guise of racism. So WHAT IF HE IS RACIST, HE IS ALLOWED TO BE. Also he paid for the tags, and they issued them fair and square. Also it is a VIOLATION of his FREEDOM of SPEECH and a DENIAL of his RIGHT OF EXPRESSION and it is OPINION and VIEWPOINT DISCRIMINATION @ it's finest.

It's funny that people think they have a right to free speech on a government-issued registration tag which is part of a scheme to limit your ability to travel and use your vehicle without paying the proper authorities first. There is a certain irony there.

considering the non-existence of automobiles, it might have been a bit difficult for them to comment. that said, if you are paying for the creation/maintenance of roads, you should be able to use them.

I recently reported an obscene license plate to DMV... "MR B8R". All the hate crap and sexual stuff is not free speech...it's stupid and not protected by anything written by the founding fathers.

You have a right to do anything that does not violate other people's rights. Thus, you have a right to drive so long as you don't endanger others. The 9th and 10th Ammendments cover all the bases for stuff that wasn't invented yet, such as cars. The government wasn't authorized to make you get a license plate to move about freely.
Thinking you have a right to free speech on your license plate is as absurd as a prisoner thinking he has a right to custom-decorate his jail cell.
