According to WHO, compared to a month ago, confirmed daily cases are up 15% but daily fatalities are down 75%.
Something doesn’t add up.
This whole Covid spiking narrative seems as logical as saying global fish populations have spiked the past 200 years because the number of fish we catch has gone way up.

Unless a cure for the virus is discovered very quickly, I am guessing that some random people are just going to have to die, through the natural order of selection, in order to build up a herd immunity to withstand the virus. There is no way people are willingly going to go through another full scale lockdown for somthing that kills fewer people each year than the common flu...

I 100% agree on herd immunity, but those who die won’t be random. It primarily kills old people, which I love you old people, but you’ve had long lives already and we aren’t immortal. Second it kills the obese.
I find it mystifying how the call to action is to stay home and order carryout and not to get out, exercise and clean up your diet.

Most COVID-19 cases have either very mild symptoms or are asymptomatic. When you test more you pick up people who didn't know they had it, and perhaps never would have known had it not been for the test. Case count goes up, even though a "case" can be a person who feels fine or a person who is deathly ill.
Fatalities are down because it's killed most of who it's going to kill already (going through nursing homes, etc). So case count way up and fatalities way down can both be true, not illogical and not surprising.
