Around 5:30 PM it appears someone jumped off the American Legion Bridge

Crossing from VA into MD inner loop, while driving
over the bridge, the right 2 lanes blocked with cones
there was parked, a hook and latter engine, an ambulance and a VA state trooper's cruiser and a white car, the driver of which was nowhere to be seen. I saw a fire fighter and a member of the ambulance crew standing along the guard rail
to the bride looking downward towards the river below.
The fire fighter tossed both hands, palms upward into the air as with
resignation. The white car parked next to the guard
rail had no noticeable damage.
A very sad scene.
Minutes earlier WTOP traffic had reported the
incident as a traffic accident.
Did anyone else hear about this or perhaps witness what exactly happened?

Maybe the guy had to piss really bad and pulled over to take a leak on the bridge?
