High School Fall Sports

Wow, my hope is we get back to the norm in the fall. Back to school would be great. Will we have fall sports? Friday Night Lights.

I would think not. They aren't even sure if they are going to allow students to return for classes. No way they can justify allowing sports without also allowing all the clubs, bands, arts to resume. There are already collegiate sports programs who have cancelled sports for the year. Some schools have ended some sports programs and aren't sure when, if ever, they will restart them. Sucks for kids hoping to go to schools on athletic scholarships....not even sure what will happen to them.

Sorry, I was just thinking more about this. Let's say Tom already accepted a full scholarship to UNLV to play middle linebacker. Corona comes along. UNLV is doing online courses for at least the Fall 2020 semester and maybe the Spring 2021 semester. Does UNLV say to Tom "stay home, continue to work out, do your online classes which we will pay for, and we will see you in the Summer of 2021"? If high schools don't play sports in 2020-2021, will there just not be a Freshman class of athletes in 2021-2022? Or will they take Freshman athletes that haven't played since their Junior year of high school.

Yeah, it seems like a positive sports article comes out one day, then a negative article about sports the next day. This pattern has been going on for a few weeks. Just wondering how it will play out in the fall.

My heart feels like the pressure of society will bring kids back in school. Somehow school systems will figure out how to bring the kids back.

But was wondering if they would shut down the extras, like sports, and just go in for class and then get out. Go home.
