Email from Fairfax County Chairman on 5/13/20 stated:

"Board approves Fairfax RISE Grant Program

What happened? Yesterday, the Board voted to create at new $25 million grant program, Fairfax RISE, to provide immediate relief assistance to small businesses and non-profits affected by COVID-19. The Board hopes to help small businesses and non-profits remain in business and address gaps that may exist in federal funding.

Who can apply? Criteria is primarily based on an organization's size, location, and time in operation. You can read more here.

When will the program open? Early June. You can sign up to be notified when the application opens here.

Anything else? At least 30% of the program's funds will be allocated to minority-, veteran-, and women-owned businesses. Historically these kinds of businesses have faced difficulty obtaining financing."

SO WHO WILL GET THE $25,000,000?
If you want to know what businesses are going to get a piece of the $25M,
send a public record request to FOIA@fairfaxcounty.gov and chairman@fairfaxcounty.gov asking for a report of what companies got COVID Welfare Money & the amount they got.

This $25M probably wont be distribute until mid to late June, and I dont know if a previous COVID Corporate Welfare Fund has been drained. So wait until mid to Late June to submit our request.

I figure we can expect to see real estate taxes rise by at least $50,000,000 to pay for this. (To give away $25mil you have to have at least $25mil in overhead: yes?)

Perhaps we should take solace that it's not as bad as sweet Nancy's stimulus bill. She got the house to vote $3 Trillion for relief (ie vote buying). Let's think about that. There are ~300 million people in the US. $3T divided by 300M = $10,000 per person. (Thanks, family of 5 x $10,000.) Of course, not everyone pays taxes. There are about 150,000,000 tax returns filed. The bottom 1/2 pay less than 2% of the taxes, so this borrowed money will be paid for by the top half. The top 1/2 is roughly anyone who paid more than $150 in federal taxes. If you are one of the lucky ones, Nancy borrowed $40,000 in your name for relief ($3T / 75M = $40,000). That's on top of the normal federal deficit and the 1st stimulus bill. Maybe she'll sell one of her refrigerators to help pay for it.

Let the good times roll!

Did you submit a request to FOIA@fairfaxcounty.gov and chairman@fairfaxcounty.gov?

The fx county govt is required to respond to A public record request in 5 days.

The more people that request a report of these companies that are getting covid welfare $$$$, the more likely the govt will just freely post the info on their website.
