Even in the daytime if another driver comes around a corner and and you(asshole motorcycle driver) have got your highbeams on, it tends to do something called 'temporarily blinding' the other driver. Even if they try their hardest not to look at the light especially at night. The problem you have created is that now this temporarily blinded driver may crash into your shitty motorcycle head on, or may crash soon after you go by them. I know it is tough being a dummy, that's why the rest of us make sure we buckle our safety belts because of idiots who drive motorcycles, and cars for that matter, who don't understand basic roadway safety.

Pretty much all the experts agree that bikes are more visible with high beams on during the day. It's in many drivers manuals, taught at the Basic Rider Course sponsored by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, and recommended by the Hurt Study on motorcycle accidents. If the lights ARE blinding you, you are in the minority and may want to have your vision checked. I also recommend a pair of sunglasses.

Even though I've never driven a motorcycle at night, my high-beam rule, as far as being an automobile driver, is that I only use them when in my neighborhood at night (To watch out for animals and kids), and/or when I'm the only vehicle on the roadway. Other than that, the only time I used high-beams full-time was in my F-body, when the pop-ups simply weren't putting out enough light.

I know it is irritating to be blinded by motorcycles during the day or night. Owning a motorcycle and riding around Fairfax is not easy. I have been almost run over several times in Fairfax by idiots who don't pay attention because they are messing with kids in the back seat, are on the phone, trying to text while driving, or just aren't paying attention. I try to remember to turn my highs off if I am following a car closely along a dark road but I don't always remember just as cagers don't always remember to turn of their high beams. Amazingly I have found a little button on my rear view mirror in my car that will darken my rear view mirror, I hit that little button and amazingly I can see again.

I ride with my high beams on all the time and that does get annoying but if you guys in cars see me I am really not that concerned about how you feel about my high beams. Just remember that we aren't doing it to piss anyone off we are doing it because we don't want to get hurt and because you don't want a guilty conscience because you didn't see us and killed us.

I personally couldn't give a shit either way and bright lights during the day on any vehicle don't bother me, so I have nothing to add on the initial topic of this thread.

Transference: shifting focus of anger/rage from something general and nonpersonal (motorcycles and people that ride them) and placing that anger on something personal (my eyes! my eyes!) in order to justify anger.

Troll is upset that he is not able to ride a motorcycle and so justifies this anger by making the motorcyclist responsible for some imagined harm. He is probably really REALLY fat, and also probably not successful in anything.

Projecting: assigning one's feelings to someone else so that one can discuss these feelings without having to be responsible for them. (Troll is a homosexual, and very angry about it, as he feels that it is wrong/dirty. He attacks others because he craves the cock.)

Coward: someone who attacks people only when there is no real possibility of having to stand up to those that he attacks.

This makes me laugh! If I ever met this douche on the road Id blind him with my fist! If your too old to see....then die already. People think motorcyclists generally ride like a-holes...sometimes true but what most cagers dont understand is that we have to ride on the offense all of the time because a majority of nova drivers are not capable of manuevering a vehicle. On a daily commute I can honestly say I am nearly hit by stupid distracted drivers about three times a day on average and if I am on the defense there is no defense two a two ton vehicle pushing you of the road or trying to shoot across an intersection. Bottom line we ride the way we do because we are trying to avoid being anywhere around you!
