I carry too, buttrean, You know, about target shot. Usually, it won't kill you, but at point blank or even close range, it can make you wish it had.

Not hardcore but I did buy a bmw road bike, shave legs and wear all the gear on weekends. I lost my bike pump so haven’t taken it out in a few years but still wear my bike shorts and outfit to tropical smoothie on the weekends.

The roads are very clear its nice riding right now. Of course you still need to be careful. Most of those who are driving seem less in a hurry which helps too. Ill miss the empty roads. I always stay off busy roads without a bike lane - not worth it to me. Yes people are angry and aggressive even on 25mph neighborhood roads but thats life. Ive been yelled at, lectured, even threatened with a firearm - just part of being a healthy cyclist. You cannot account for random angry people just attempt to manage them. The big secret even the angry assholes may not comprehend is a person in a car can legally murder a cyclist. Worst case is maybe a year in jail but 99 times out of 100 you can kill a cyclist and just say it was their fault. Unless you are drunk or on drugs there is no penalty for killing a cyclist if you make up a half-assed story.

Still, I need my daily hour on the bike just no two ways about it.

this guy gets it. killing pedestrians, other motorists, cyclists and any living thing on or near a road is no big deal in the eyes of the law. Think about it. If you are shooting a firearm in your back yard and kill a neighbor you are going to jail. If you run over someone riding a bike your insurance rates might go up but thats it.
