We will promote digital and online resources to FCPS students that will help student learning continue. This work will not be required nor graded.

Back in my day there was no such thing as the internet. We had to carry home paper worksheets and an Encyclopedia Britannica Set, Thesaurus and Dictionary that together weighed 50 lbs. They didn't offer breakfast at school, and if you didn't have money for lunch you didn't eat.

Teachers are not paid to teach from home. We already have to go to school more days than the students.

If you get a month off, we do too.

Well, this year they had already built TWENTY days into the calendar just in case there are long winter, snow events. TWENTY days = 4 weeks or one month. Since we only used one snow day before this happened, the teachers should still get paid whether they have to do remote learning or not.

FCPS can’t legally require graded work because this would open them up to lawsuits that online learning is not available or adaptive to special needs/IEP/foreign language students. In other words, asking all students to access online lessons leaves out those with handicaps, supports, mental challenges or even any without online access and so they are unable to educate all. Something called IDEA was cited. Suggestions only.

You are 100% correct. Access is the most difficult piece. Teachers and the county will provide learning opportunities, but it can’t be enforced or graded.

I'd scare the students with the homework assignment from hell by cell phone.

Then i'd be like when they got back in class: well it's ok if you didn't finish it all.

IN 2016 AND 2018 I TOOK A THOROUGH WALK THROUGH FX CO GOV CENTER (multiple buildings)

3/4 of the place was empty. the other building (welfare) - always full always illegal aliens lined up.

Too many little Pablos with no computer access and too many lazy Karens too drunk by noon to help their kids. This is why can't grade anything. They decided it wouldn't be fair to the 11% of kids that don't have shitty parents and can actually do the work.
