The Second Amendment says nothing about the right to own weapons being limited to those who don't use drugs. I have never been convicted of possession of pot. I have never been convicted of anything more serious than running a stop sign. There are no criminal charges pending against me. I don't use pot. If I did though why under the Second Amendment should I be forced to affirm and prove that I don't use pot before I can acquire a firearm?

You cannot hide behind the "pot is illegal" arguement. Lots of things are illegal. You are not required to affirm and prove you haven't cheated on your taxes to purchase a firearm. You are not required to affirm and prove you haven't been drunk in public to purchase a firearm under Federal law.

You also cannot hide behing the "but for current liberal policies on drugs you would have a drug conviction" argument. Illegal drug possession and use has been as widespread during the past 60 years as illegal liquor consumption was during Prohibition. Then as now only a very very small portion of those using pot or consuming liquor were caught. Then as now most of those caught saw the charges dismissed before the case went to trial. A lack of conviction is a lack of conviction regardless of whether it was because you didn't commit the crime, you weren't caught, you were found not guilty or the prosecution decided not to pursue the case.
