During the last election cycle, Webb got an A- from the NRA's politicial scorecard on firearms policies. Not bad for a democrat. Guess those years fighting the North Vietnamese give you a good appreciation for a trusty firearm.

Yeah, he has been pro-Constitution from what I remember in the campaign. It goes to show that politicians personally think self protection in DC is appropriate... it's the pandering to other groups that keeps this from happening. Many Democrats are now publicly better on guns and it appears that to appeal to "red" states the tent has gotten wider on that issue.

I don't get it. This is about his aide. Not him.

Webb's aid grabbed Webb's bag, which had the gun in it. So Webb would have been bringing in his own gun if he'd remembered the bag.

What a clueless moron his aide is... "arrested during a security check upon entering the Russell Senate Office building at about 10:50 a.m. The loaded gun was detected by an X-ray machine"

It was webbs Gun. Typical liberal fucker, guns in the hands of the "little people" are a bad thing but a Senator has special rights.

Webb is pro-second amendment dumbass. The NRA gave him an A rating during his campaign.

Even the "supposedly crazy liberal" Howard Dean was endorsed 8 times by the NRA when he was Governor.

And why not... Vermont has no restrictions on concealed carry, no permit required. I don't know if he signed that into law, but as long as he didn't screw with it then he should get a good rating.

Personally I'd like to congratulate the police for their good work in detecting the firearm in question. Webb Manned up and took responsibility, good for him. However the police should immedietly send the offending aide to Guantanamo CAMP X-ray and detain him there without trial or jury or lawyer. Then be shot in each appendage till he tells the real story

AFAIK, Vermont's lack of laws regulating carry is due to a state supreme court ruling many years ago that stated any laws prevening the bearing of arms are in violation of the Vermont constitution. So it would be very difficult for Dean or anyone else to pass a law against it.
