1. Westfield would have made the playoffs with the 8 team format? Who knows. But they would have been that team no one wanted to face if they had been in the playoffs!!

2. The SouthEastern District simply isn't as tough as the Concorde!!

3. O. Smith is in Chesapeake. Most kids live in South Norfolk. If you look at the map, their school zone falls those 2 verticle roadways heading north from the red locator dot. They are no way near living in VaBeach. That's like saying kids who live in DC actually live in Chantilly!!!

Study the points system. TC played Hayfield, min points possible, WS played Robo, more points possible. WS is in, TC vs. McLean in the bonus game.

Yep.

Madison and Chantilly both have the smell of playoff chokers. Fortunately for Madison it's Wakefield so wipeout is certain. Chantilly is definitely better than South Lakes but beating Westfield may have been good enough for them - they might be satisfied with their season already. Ultimately it will be Chantilly @ Madison. This is a toss-up. Don't be fooled - this Madison team is no better than the last several years - Centreville the same, Westfield down, Chantilly up. Madison the same. The same may be good enough. Madison Northern Region champs.

South County versus Lake Braddock will be a rematch. South County will then defeat Madison.

In attendance tonight is the 2014 Gatorade National HS Athlete of the year, Andrew Brown!! I distinctly remember Centreville cheering "Over Rated, Over Rated"!!! during the state title game.

I guess Andrew gets the last laugh!!! How many of their team are playing in the NFL????

1. It was in 2013.
2. Centreville won 35-6. Overated? Yes.
3. At least one:

"Back win they had good teams". You sir, are obviously one of those obnoxious and uneducated beach kids hoping OS doesn't choke when they play for the title in a few weeks.

Definitely, but at least I know we'll be their with your team's gear sitting in storage. That's what perennial dominance looks like!

Sorry, I don't have a team, just enjoy you drooling over your mighty Tigers, all the time, all over this board. Find it interesting that this is Fairfax Underground yet you troll this board every season. I guess there's not much to do or live for other than football, that you have a ton of free-time on your hands. You appear to live here, hanging on every post waiting to pounce at any unsuspecting local fan voicing their opinion or asking a question.

I imagine there's not enough intelligence in your neck of the woods to have meaningful conversations which is why you always show-up here. But you would think given Smith's record in the big game, against the teams from which this board covers, you'd be embarrassed to come on here and run your mouth. From many of your posts it's obvious you're butthurt about your teams failure to win the big one against the North. So I guess you feel the need to constantly troll the North. I don't think you understand no one on here except you cares about Oscar Smith.

By the way, you should change your statement to "local" perennial dominance. Your team won championships in 2008 & 2011, choked in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, & 2019. Doesn't matter how many games you win, how many shut outs you post, or how many of your players go on to the next level. What matters is winning the last game of the season, your team 2-6 in that game. Last won that game 10 years ago, that's a decade, not perennial dominance you dingbat!

VERY true. This is a Nova board. Highland Springs is a perennial power, they win state titles constantly. Smith isnt.

Y'all are pitful, live'n through Westfield's success??? No other Class 6 team has made it to the State game, period. Now the Bulldogs are gone as predicted. Smith will continue being the South's representative. You say choke in the State Title game when your teams are sitting at home again. I'd rather play all the games on the schedule.

Your inability to recognize Smith's greatness is not a concern of mine. But I'll be around ready to keep reminding ya.

Same excuse for not playing Stone Bridge & Broad Run. Still a bunch of pussy's. I only started to hear this bullshit after the Concord teams got regulary beat by WCAC teams. Other districts do NOT have restrictions. In fact VHSL has Zero rules against it.

In the recent regular seasons Madison seems OK playing Stone Bridge and South County (and occasionally winning... mostly being thrashed)...

Same old bullshit from same old bullshitter. There has been exactly 1 game in the last 20 years between a Concorde and WCAC team. You just keep making shit up. Go away.

1. Centreville @ Madison (-9)
- Madison won and covered, 22-7. Mediocre 3-3 year (without the +1) for a Centreville team that had higher expectations.

2. Falls Church @ Wakefield (-14)
- Wakefield won 13-0, missed the cover by 1. Those darn XP's.

3. Herndon @ Washington-Lee (-20)
- Game was cancelled due to pause in W&L's program I believe. Spared Herndon another beatdown.

4. Lake Braddock @ South County (-14)
- South County won and covered, 29-14. Nailed it.

5. Lee @ Edison (-13)
- Edison beats up on the Lancers, 54-7.

6. McLean @ Yorktown (-8)
- Yorktown won and covered, 28-10.

7. South Lakes (-17) @ Langley
- "I believe this game is already cancelled, but just in case..." Yes, this game was cancelled.

8. Stuart @ Marshall (-7)
- Marshall won and covered, 21-14. 2nd spread I nailed on the week! (Would have been the 3rd, but that damn extra point)

9. T.C. Williams (-17) @ Hayfield
- T.C. won and covered, 48-7. Dreadful year for Hayfield ends, (excluding +1) but the real story here is T.C. winning 4 consecutive games to win the Gunston Distrct title. All 6 games were on the road, they had off-site practices and private transportation to games. Kudos to the Titans on a great season given the circumstances. It's a shame they didn't make the playoffs. Hopefully they get the stadium situation figured out so they can have true home games this fall.

10. Woodson @ Fairfax (-3)
- Fairfax wins and coveres, 20-13.

11. West Potomac (-3) @ Annandale
- Annandale won 42-14. I totally blew it on this one.

12. West Springfield @ Robinson (-3)
- West Springfield won 43-29. They have a good team this year.

13. Westfield (-5) @ Chantilly
- Chantilly won 19-14, first time the Chargers beat the Bulldogs since 2010!

Wow, the playoffs are here just like that! This (shortened) season flew by. The good news is the fall season is also right around the corner. With the condensed season also means condensed playoffs. Some teams got left out that would’ve made it in a normal season - which totally sucks.

I’m going to post spreads for some games in neighboring counties, however I am not as familiar with those teams as I am with our teams.
SIDE NOTE, I do not know what the deal is with these +1 games. I don’t know if they will even be played or if it's just a rumor, but if non-playoff teams get an extra game, I will try and have a complete schedule with spreads for those games as well by Friday morning.

1. Freedom - South Riding @ Stone Bridge (-28)
- The end of the road for Freedom.

2. Patriot @ Gar-Field (-3)
- Not familiar with either team to be honest. Gar-Field used to field some good teams decades ago, but not as of recent. They are 6-0 though, beat Freedom and have made relatively easy work out of the rest of the Prince William competition.

3. Chantilly (-7) @ South Lakes
- Co-Game of the week. These two met in the first round of the 2019 playoffs and South Lakes pulled out the win 40-43. I don’t think that happens this time. Chantilly has a fantastic defense and South Lakes hasn’t played since 3/19. I think they come out sluggish and Chantilly pounces on the opportunity. They remember what happened in 2019. The question is how will SL look?

4. Lake Braddock @ Robinson (-3)
- Co-Game of the week. This is going to be a great re-match. In 2009 and 2010, Robinson beat LB in the regular season, just to go on to lose to them in the playoffs. But in the last 5 years, LB has dominated this series in the regular season and playoffs. Makes you wonder what will happen this time around. Robinson looked bad last week against WS, and I never thought the Bruins stood a chance at South County. Both teams will be ready to go this week. I think Robinson gets back to running the ball downhill, playing punch mouth, physical football and they win a close one at home. Should be a great game, this is the one that counts for the real Burke bragging rights.

5. Wakefield @ Madison (-28)
- Madison is way too physical for Wakefield. Wakefield had fun beating up on the Lee’s and Falls Church’s, but they are going to be the ones getting beat up this week. Wakefield only stands a chance if they can manage to score a ton of points.

6. West Springfield @ South County (-20)
- SC won the first time around 38-7, absolutely shut the Spartans down. Something similar will happen this time also, and that’s not to knock WS at all, SC is just playing extremely good football. This game could be closer than some people think, especially in the first half but I think the Stallions pulls away after halftime to outclass WS.

My concern with a 28 point spread Wakefield vs Madison is that Yorktown beat Madison last year & everyone said the same thing about a weak schedule. Plus, Wakefield is averaging only just over points a game. Seems like a lock to take the points.

Not sure we would have kept that 1.2 pts per game if Nansemond River & Kings Fork were still on the schedule. Plus we were supposed to Play Highland Springs again this year! No doubt we would have crushed them though.

Wish they would schedule crossover games for the playoffs for C and D since they are fairly close for travels purposes. Is it possible for A and B ?

Reg A already has long travel. Franklin Co is traveling to to chester, va to play Dale. Almost 4 hours. Last year they had to come to VaBeach to play Ocean Lakes!! If A & B crossed, the trips would again be 4 hours to the 757 or visa versa.

In the past, they did cross brackets. I remember Westfield came down to play a young Phil Sims-led Smith team. One of those Glennon boys bet them. The next year was an equally epic battle with Smith traveling up to play Oakton. Smith eeked out the win on a field goal. The State championship games were anti-climactic, blowouts.

I'm sure Westfield whined like babies about the travel. That's kinda their thing when they are asked by teams like Highland Springs to schedule games!!

I remember those days when the winner a each region either hosted or travelled a good ways to play( OS and Westfield/Battlefield one year I think, Cville and hermitage/varina )then they added more teams to the playoffs. When Cville won states they played stonewall and south county before facing Westfield in the region final. Also played patriot the following year. Maybe in a few years they will change it up again.

Another retard on here who knows nothing.

Yes, there will be +1 games. In the Concorde, WF plays Falls Church and CV plays Justice.

You have zero idea why Westfield declines certain games. It is a cost/benefit analysis and is not based on travel. Stop flapping your gums and say something intelligent for a change.

The regions decided the +1 games would be based on where the teams in Regions C&D placed with power points. That is how they came up with those matchups. Yes, they are bad matchups but when there is such a huge disparity in quality between the districts that is what you get.

I'm pretty sure of my sources in that regard. But more importantly, let FFU know that Highland Springs reached out multiple times!! Same result for each request was that it was too far for the team to travel.

Call it what you want. I'll call you a bunch of pussies!!

"Wow, the playoffs are here just like that!

This game could be closer than some people think, especially in the first half but I think the Stallions pulls away after halftime to outclass WS."

Hello all, update: Turns out after all that there are +1 games, essentially bowl games. All of them it looks like will be played on Thursday night, with the playoff games being played Friday night. The following games I have confirmed, and I will look to post one last update with the schools I have not confirmed hopefully tomorrow, if not then Thursday morning.

1. Annandale @ McLean (-6)
- Interesting match-up between two 4-2 teams. One mutual opponent they both had was MV and Annandale lost to MV, McLean beat MV. I'm taking McLean at home, but I can see Annandale winning.

2. Herndon @ Hayfield (-7)
- Long way for Herndon to travel for a pointless game between two 0-6 teams. This game should be labeled "The Toilet Bowl." Hayfield is less bad than Herndon is, they'll win.

3. Lee @ Woodson (-14)
- Another game between two winless teams. Woodson was getting blown out by teams in the gauntlet known as the Patriot, while Lee was getting blown out by bad teams in the National.

4. Marshall @ Mount Vernon (-10)
- Think MV's athleticism will be too much for Marshall to handle.

5. Stuart @ Centreville (-10)
- JEB gets a pissed off Centreville team. This one could get ugly.

6. Washington-Lee @ Fairfax (-3)

7. West Potomac (-8) @ Langley

TEAMS THAT I HAVE NOT CONFIRMED GAMES FOR: Edison, Falls Church, Oakton, T.C. Willians, Westfield, and Yorktown. The rumor is Westfield will be travleing to Yorktown. If true, I suspect Edison plays Oakton, and T.C. plays Falls Church. Again, I will post one last follow up post once I get the remaining games.

Falls Church is traveling to Westfield. FC coaches are trying to figure out how to run the clock and be home before 9.

Well, it could happen. Yorktown destroyed them last year. A good QB with enough time to find a receiver would do it. The problem is that Madison has a better defense this year. I think anything is possible this year. But, I still think it's gonna come down to Madison vs South County.

I can say that it sounds pretty interesting. Actually, when I entered college, I had real problems with documents, but then I found these guys https://www.essayedge.com/mba-essay-editing/ . This service was of great help to me with documents. So if you need help with admission, I am sure that they, as well as helped me, will be able to help you.

Woodbridge HS will be searching for new HC. The new guy after 1 year has stepped down. His wife is due with their first child and so they’re moving to be closer to her family. Is Woodbridge still a top school to draw a top coach? They went 1-5 this past season, quite disappointing. Or are they regretting getting rid of coach Wortham?

Agreed. Whoever did the scheduling for these +1 games did a terrible job. Why not match teams up with rivals? Have westfield play cville again and FC play jeb. Instead they flipped it and the games will be blowouts.

Woodbridge HS is a mess. Who thought it was a good idea to hire someone who had quit his last head coaching job after 6 months before ever coaching a game. That was a bad hire.

Seems pretty obvious that the administration there was just in a desperate hurry to get rid of Wortham and hire anyone else. Wortham seems to have been a good guy but his values just didn't fit the profile of our modern woke anti-christian schools. So even though he was black he had to go. He wasn't conformist enough.

Hello all, I believe I have all the games figured out now. To the user who posted the other 3 games that I couldn't confirm - kudos! I went and cleaned up the last post and arranged all the games alphabetically as always. Will be back on Monday to re-cap and post next weeks spreads!

PLAYOFF SPREADS:

"PLUS ONE" SPREADS:

1. Annandale @ McLean (-6)
- Interesting match-up between two 4-2 teams. One mutual opponent they both had was MV and Annandale lost to MV, McLean beat MV. I'm taking McLean at home, but I can see Annandale winning.

2. Edison @ Oakton (-3)
- Not sure where this game is being played, but damn, this would've been the game of the week if this was '06, '07, or '08. Oh, how these programs have fallen off. This one is a toss-up. Give me the Cougars at home.

3. Falls Church @ Westfield (-20)
- Out of all of the "Plus One" games, this one makes the least chance. FC doesn't stand a chance. FC should've played George Mason (If they aren't in the playoffs?) and Westfield should've played an East Loudoun team that's close to them.

4. Herndon @ Hayfield (-7)
- Long way for Herndon to travel for a pointless game between two 0-6 teams. This game should be labeled "The Toilet Bowl." Hayfield is less bad than Herndon is, they'll win.

5. Lee @ Woodson (-14)

6. Marshall @ Mount Vernon (-10)
- Think MV's athleticism will be too much for Marshall to handle.

7. Stuart @ Centreville (-10)
- JEB gets a pissed off Centreville team. This one could get ugly.

8. T.C. Williams (-7) @ Yorktown
- Game is being played Friday at Annandale. T.C. doesn't have a home field and I guess Yorktown has something planned on the football field. I like this match-up. Both teams come in on 4 game winning streaks. T.C. has played a tougher schedule I believe, and they beat MV who Yorktown lost to. I think T.C. prevails.

9. Washington-Lee @ Fairfax (-3)

10. West Potomac (-8) @ Langley

Blame the region and the DSAs for these awful +1 games. They made an agreement for these games to be made off power points. FC, McLean, Marshall, it doesn’t matter, none of them can compete with the bulldogs. Weak schedules make inflated records. Districts need to change ASAP

Cvhs will have the same view as this year. With Jack gone they better search high and low for a QB. They don’t have a varsity ready QB in those hallways right now. Knowing they way those nut job boosters are so fanatical about a mediocre program I’m sure they’ll “find” a kid who will “move” into their district.
