If it wasn't for so many bad calls in the regional final game against SoCo, LB would have easily won that game.

That is not what the article says at all. It says they are optimistic about starting on time. PA is taking it day by day and will wait to make a decision. No need to made the final decision July 6th when you don’t start until August. VA has said the same thing.

You have no clue what you are talking about. Doc has been the savior of this program. When he took over the program, it was in total disarray, Doc quickly put together one the best staff's in the state and turned it around, They are now one of the top programs in the state. Thanks for all you do Doc!

Yeah, total disarray?
What has Doc done really done at Lake Braddock? Oh yeah, the kids behave...oh wait even that's not true. GTFOH, Doc is in over his head, all that talent, LB should be in double digit wins ever year.

3 years Before Doc:
2014 10-3 2 playoffs wins
2015 11-2 2 playoff wins
2016 11-2 2 playoff wins
Totals 32-7 6 playoff wins

3 years with With Doc:
2017 8-4 1 playoff win
2018 7-4 0 playoff wins
2019 10-3 2 playoff wins
Totals 25-11 3 playoff wins

Isn’t this comparing one man’s last 3 years with the program to another man’s first 3? Hardly a fair comparison. This place is full of jokesters. It seems that the new coach has them poised to compete for a state title with the first group to play for him for 4 years. Impressive!

Yes Doc, it is full of jokesters on here, mainly LB people spouting off at the mouth about the wonderful job that you are doing. Also, It's not necessarily first 3 or last 3 years with the program. Its showing that the program was not in disarray, when you took it over, Doc. Every year you say that LB is poised to compete for a state title, so far, what we have seen has not been impressive!

Pls let there be a season, so we can shit the Westfield students up! Gonna be different this year. We have the better QB(probably best QB in North region), do Bulldogs even have a QB this year? I just wonder if coach Shields will have the balls to run it up on Simmons.

Some disturbing news coming out from a Soco instagram account where a student in the class of 2022 at Lake Braddock who was on the football team this past year was forced to lick the private parts of an upperclassman on the Lake Braddock football team. They also claim that the coaches there don’t do anything about it and the culture on the team between underclassman and upperclassman is bad. It’s quite disturbing to read. There is much more on it wish someone could post it.

The Woodson of 2019 was not Chantilly, it was Yorktown. Senior loaded good defenses who cant compete with the established programs.

Not gonna happen. Westfield has a solid 2 year starter at QB transferring in for his senior season. They already have 4 or 5 rising seniors with D1 offers. And arguably the best RB in the state. No glaring weakness anywhere. This has the potential to be a really good season for the Dawgs. Unless COVID wins.

WHS is done, they are hoping there is no season so they don’t have to witness it. 4-6. Finally don’t have to hear from all their sycophant supporters. Robinson is the team to beat this year I’d we have a season. Robinson and Madison in semis.

Google herd immunity and see that chances of it actually happening. It didn’t work for the Spanish Flu why would it work for this. I agree we can’t live in lock down forever, but we can be smart about what can and should happen. Football might not be the best right now, but it could be in a few months. This shouldn’t be a political discussion, it should be science.

It is political. We could well be the only country in the world without schools this fall. Another great way to hate America - make our kids stupider than they already are.

This is another thing that is wrong with the world. Who in their right might would trust that you can get accurate, reliable and unbiased information by "Googling" anything? If you are patient and willing to scroll through the first 10,000 results you might start finding something other than propaganda.

The alphabet agencies will not let you see, hear or read anything that does not conform to the worldview of the World Health Organization (i.e. COMMUNIST CHINA). Please inform yourself by some means other than anything controlled by GOOGLE.

We’re going to continue to postpone the season, and then cancel it. In the spring, they’ll cancel it again and move it to the fall. Repeat x100. HS football in VA is dead. I feel bad for the junior that was going to blow up, or the senior that was going to earn a scholarship.

I’d go 10 miles across the bridge and play in Maryland. At least their Governor isn’t a nut job who won’t cancel the season.

Option three gives schools the best opportunity to play all sports and makes the most sense. The season alignment would be winter sports from Dec. 14 - Feb. 20 with the first contest date on Dec. 28; fall sports from Feb. 15 - May 1 with the first contest date on March 1; and spring sports April 12 - June 26 with the first contest date on April 26.

The condensed season allows all the sports to play and gives schools the ability to reopen and deal with any potential outbreaks within the school before starting sports. The negative side would be fewer games

All of the NOVA DSAs and Principals should vote for that. If they vote to take any sports away, then the DSAs should be fired. The DSAs job is sports, sure there may be additional work to do with the schedules and logistics but that's their job!!!
Otherwise, they aren't needed!!

With some planning and preparation from the DSAs office, it would be the best alternative for everyone. Since most sports wouldn't start until December, that's 5 months for planning. Sounds like a great option

Agreed on choice of recruits to perhaps forego winter football. And what about those who play baseball and lacrosse. Will they risk injury by playing an abbreviated season?

Incorrect. Football starts 15 Feb with the first game NET 1 March. All competition (regular season and playoffs, if they decide to have playoffs) must be done NLT 1 May.

Points to focus on
School virtual no sports.
Not in phase 4 no sports.
No vaccine or cure no sports.
The flu season spikes November - February

We will still be virtual in winter and likely bump down a phase and not bump up. There will not be any sports also because we will not be in school.

Ok people one more time - There will not be any football in February - March of 2021. What part of that do you not understand. We will still be virtual come February - March.

Focus on 2021 because 2020 is not going to happen.

How many senior football players will skip the spring football season 2021?
This could alter the landscape a bit, depending on who opts out. Some teams were banking on a great senior class.

Factors:
1. Those with scholarships in hand, wont want to risk injuries
2. Those whose primary sports are baseball or lacrosse (injury risks with seasons so close together)
3. Some will just lose interest

Schools that lose starting QBs or all region type skill players will be most affected.

Players that I can think of:
LB QB
LB WR
WTW QB
HAY WR

Madison has a lot of baseball and lax kids. Not sure which sport they would consider their priority.

I heard someone is starting a tackle football league for high school players to play in the fall out in Loudon county.
They will be playing a national schedule? Against who?

How is that going to work?
Players playing this league in the fall and with their respective high school teams in the Spring, sounds like a recipe for disaster!

Has football really become AAU basketball and Travel soccer now?

Sounds like a major investment of cash from the players and a high risk of injury as well. Organizations like these are generally in it for the money they can make off the players and not the best interest of the players. I will reserve judgment on this after I see more details on this

VHSL and a lot of high schools in the country, as well as, most college football programs have deemed it to risky to play football this fall. But some club in NOVA is putting together a football team(s) to play in the fall?
Oh yeah! That's a good idea!!

Risk of injuries
Risk of virus spreading amongst the coaches, players, families?
Law suits?

Has this really been thought thru?

Good luck with all that!

It’s so funny. Coaches are selling these bs 7on7 leagues. They are stealing your money kids. Nobody gets any offers based off of 7on7 film. The coaches pushing this stuff are a joke and schools should stop them from Making money off of their own players.

I dont see that going very far, maybe 1 or 2 games at most.
Teams will end up cancelling for various reasons. If you look at private schools that are not affiliated with a district or conference, they usually get a lot of games canceled. Im curious, how are they going to practice legally? I thought contact sports could not go until further notice?

Just my thoughts:

Starting a tackle football league in the fall is just a big moneymaker for the organizers, like all those 7v7 all star teams. No players are getting scholarships from 7v7, like they say. Its all filling the pocket of the organizer.

These players are going pay a lot of money to play a couple games to get some game tape? Wait and play in the spring with your legit HS team that will mean much more in the long run

You are going to take them to college campuses to meet coaches? They can do that for free themselves

Regardless of what they say, the level of competition will not be very good, most likely homeschools or small private schools. College coaches will see right through that

If you do not get the looks you want, go to Prep School or Jr College, those are legit and will get much more attention from coaches then these organizations that are just trying to line their pockets with your money

As of today, 14 states + DC have banned high school football this fall. 13 Democrat governors, 1 Republican.

14 states are allowing fall football, normal schedules. 12 Republican governors, 2 Democrat.

The other 26 states have either
1) made no decision yet
2) delayed starts
3) shortened the season

It's all political. Disgusting.

I can see how you draw that analysis from the breakout of Dem/Rep you state, but the decisions are not political-they are based on health decisions and personal beliefs and values. Yes, governors are politicians and are influenced by the beliefs of their party (otherwise they would not be in that party). Try not to mix things up because they are two different issues. The decisions fall along political lines but that is a consequence not an cause.

Seems like a of of money for the travel team
Roughly $3000-$4000 to play maybe 10 games.
Do these players really need film that bad?

Known cost:
Tryout $80
Uniforms and various other fees$500

Estimated cost:
Helmet $300
Shoulder pads $200
Various other pads $60
Travel and Lodging $200 for drivable $600 to fly per games

It’s the AAUization of football. Sad. Only people benefitting are the adults taking the cash. Who the hell are they going to play in those other states? It’s not like those states have schedule gaps to fill.

There are individual conferences in "open" states that are shutting down football. Mostly in Democrat controlled districts. So there will be plenty of kids available in states that theoretically have football. It's a free market. Kids want to play. Nothing wrong with that.

The only thing sad about it is that kids who can't afford the cost don't get the opportunity to play. The coaches won't make tons of money off of these kids, but it will stroke some of their egos. A lot of these coaches are your run of the mill personal trainer "I'll get you exposure" type guys. They've never been in charge of a legit HS football team.

Last night, ESPN showed 2 live HS football games. One in Alabama and one in Utah. They have one on live right now in Tennessee and 2 more to follow. This proves to me that it can be done, as long as your Governor isn’t a fucking Republican. It makes me angry/upset that other states are able to play as usual, and we aren’t playing solely for political purposes. Some coaches are wearing masks, some aren’t. The stands are packed, missing it all.

I agree it's all political, but I am confused. The governors of Alabama, Utah and Tennessee are Republicans so your comment makes no sense.

Bottom line is - with reasonable precautions, everyone should return to normalcy. Locking down should never have been attempted as a LONG TERM solution because it is not.

n this way we can, therefore, say that the bookmakers that offer the betting exchange platform are the best on the market. In https://affiliates-casino.com/21-casino/ , bets very very quickly as they rely heavily on the Live concept, therefore there are constant fluctuations due to supply and demand and a good punter can find unique offers.
