Oh, this is just the beginning of the tax tidal wave that's coming out of Richmond. One thing Fairfax and it's satellites have been itching for is a local tax. The republicans wouldn't ever allow it. Now, it will almost certainly be passed. That means a tax on whatever the money-hungry BOS decides to tax on top of the state sales tax. Expect it to first hit hotels, rental cars and restaurants. Within 5 years, it will be a fixed 3% tax on everything, but groceries and prescriptions (maybe). That is what happened in every place that a local tax has been implemented. Enjoy it assholes. I'm happily outta here in 3 years.
