Are you staying in the area? Or do you plan to do a road trip?

Drive down 81 to Virginia Safari Park, spend a day feeding weird animals and a slow drive through. Then, check out Natural Bridge, a cavern or two, and FoamHenge (a lifesize recreation of stonehenge). There are some other kitchy and fun for kids things down right in that area. On the way back, stop by Luray Zoo and caverns for some more fun or go for a hike at Shenandoah's Skyline Drive. They have lots of trails from beginner to more advanced and really spectacular views.

Sit them in front of the computer and have them post on this site for the entire spring break.

This isn't a bad suggestion. It's cheap and close and if you decide to stay at a Comfort Inn for a day or two, it won't kill the pocketbook.

Cancun is always a favorite, no drinking age, plus they just decriminalized weed/coc/Heroin. I would stay away from the coc/Her though. Gang violence has not really touched that area like the west coast of MX. Also you drink in public w/out worrying about getting a ticket from a Federally.

Hope this was helpful.

Two years ago, we drove up to Niagra Falls. I'm not going to lie - it's a fucking haul (9 hours), but you can make it in a day, spend the next day sightseeing during "low tourist season" and drive back the 3rd day.

My kids were 13 and 8 and I thought it was going to be hell on earth, but with DVD's/Nintendo DS's they hardly noticed the time in the car.

I thought about doing that last Spring Break. But my wife was like, "What do you want to go there for?"

It was kind of a buzz kill.

The Dulles Air and Space museum.

There is also a tower there to look out over the land that is decent.

Niagara Falls is one of those places where you can pull a Clark Griseald and walk up to the falls and say "yup. It's a waterfall, let's go". If all you're going for is the falls - it's a one day trip. The best view is from the Canadian side, but everyone needs a passport.

I've been there, it's cool and very picturesque, but I don't need to go back.

That's a great suggestion. It is an 180 acre drive-thru park and you can feed the animals right out of your car. The kids get a big kick out of it.

How about a nice father and son afternoon spent at a local strip club?
I recomend only high school aged sons old enough to carry fake id's though.
Middle school aged sons might be too young for something like that.

To relax, if you will, in the womb of the desert sun.

496- the Wynn is fancy schmancy. Not my kinda casino. Stop in at Bill's Gambling Hall for a .99 cent maragarita. You deserve it.

BTW, i won't be there til May.

Normally I wouldn't stay at a place like the Wynne but since this was a b-day gift trip from wife I guess I'll have to "slum it". I will take the Bill's gambling hall info under advisement thought, thx.
