NRA's original purpose was to teach and promote gun and hunting safety. Too bad they have strayed so far from their mission and now exist to buy Wayne LaPiere nice places to live and a 1%er salary.

Blame just the NRA ?

Trump is to blame for allowing the assault weapons to remain on the streets.

It is time for progressive change dealing with gun ownership.

So you naturally assumed it was an assault weapon? I looked online and there is no mention of the weapon. They were hunting rabbits. Likely, the gun was a 22. Using 223 or 762x39 would be extreme overkill against rabbits.

I hope the dad is charged and does jail time.

I own guns. Love shooting, though I have never been hunting.

I do agree, though. Sure, it was an accident. But even accidents (car, fire, etc) come with consequences. I know losing his son will destroy this man emotionally for life and likely destroy his marriage. I think you are cruel and an obvious libtard for saying what you just did.

I hope you compassionate democrats out there who think you are better than gun owners take note of this person's post. If this is how you truly think/feel, I feel bad for you.

My understanding was the father was using a semi automatic 12 GA shotgun loaded with 00 buckshot. The magazine held 30 rounds, and 25 were expended in the incident.

So proud of that father for exercising his Second Amendment rights. A true patriot.

the idea that government will run everything (though only rich political families will enjoy)

the idea that government rules prohibit anything dangerous

ALL A PILE OF HORSE SHIT

if you play it safe and never accept responsible challenges say hello to being a Walmart employee pushing chinese produts: which btw the Clinton democrats are highly invested in

you MUST take risk of injury to build factories and a nation - which is why it shouldn't be left out of training a young man

The kid was walking in front of him while daddy was carrying a loaded shotgun with the safety off pointed in his direction too excited to get a shot at that frisky rabbit and tripped over a rock sticking up from the ground

How else does something that stupid happen ? And Im the NRA member here Who totally supports safe sport hunting ! No excuses accepted

DAJAX

The father has and will pay the price in life ..enough , let them grieve

Whatever mistake the dad made, it pales in comparison to the abuse of common decency committed by the libtard posters in this thread. They proudly expose themselves as trash as they use this tragedy to demonize all gun owners for a few cheap political points. But this is what you have to expect from them. Their whole world revolves around them and what they want. They don't follow normal standards; whatever they want is the standard. Narcissism is a virtue to them.

Using a tragic thread such as this to launch a political attack.

Could’ve been the kids fault. You gotta wear a orange hat

Despite relentless attacks from libtards, the NRA has remained true to that purpose. Of course, whenever the NRA tries to bring gun safety lessons into the schools, they are met at the front door by liberal bigots shouting "Guns evil", "Down with the NRA", "Orange man bad" and blocking access. Then, those self same libtards get on the internet and decry the lack of gun safety programs. The problem is NOT with the NRA, it's with Moms Demand, Everytown and their liberal supporters and the pols who are bought by them.

The Dad needs to get at least 5 years in prison. Prison time can be hard on child killers.
