Don't let them perform this illegal search

The Fredericksburg Police are conducting illegal searches under the auspices of handing out gift cards for good driving behavior. But you will notice that the officer damn near sticks his head into the vehicle, which would allow him to smell alcohol or marijuana. Cops cannot just stop your car and stick their head in for a sniff, that is illegal. But if you stop for them, and are stupid enough to roll your window all the way down, you are basically giving them consent. Another jurisdiction tried this "technique" several years ago and stopped after being threatened with lawsuits. They are playing on your ignorance of the law.

Driving in the state of VA is a privilege, which I'm sure you've heard many times from the judges you've faced.

I'm sure as a constitutional scholar you know the difference between a privilege and a right.

As I'm sure you know the difference between the driving component of the issue (the privilege) and the illegal searches and seizures component of the issue (the right).

I'm an old white guy who drives a 1963 Cadillac...I've never been pulled over nor had my car searched. None of this will ever pertain to me.
