Does AAA charge $200 to replace car batteries?
Posted by: Gomer Pyle ()

I don't have AAA coverage but my neighbor says he does. While jawing about automotive stuff, he said that AAAA road service sells & installs replacement car batteris for roundabout $200.

How is that possible? That's literally hi way robbery!!
WALMART installs batteries for, what?,$85?

That AAA shit should be illegal, especially cause from what I can tell, AAA has membership fees, too!

You sound like a anti American piece of shit. Here in America people can charge whatever they want. If you are not happy with the price or service you have the right to not make that purchase.

For ~ $50 on ebay, you can buy a l-ion car jumpstart device (less than a year of AAA). Keep it in your trunk and charge it up every 6 months. When your battery dies, jump the car with it and drive to Walmart for a new battery. You'll save $ and you don't have to wait for the AAA truck to arrive. Plan B is to bitch on FFxU.

here's the list of things owed to millenials ""

something like 800% markup could be considered "illegal" (i borrow that from loan sharking law - 800% markup of loans is infact illegal)

many are of the opinion that "no markup is illegal" that's simply not true, infact in earlier america, in some areas, ANY MARKUP WAS ILLEGAL, it was called "usery"

the current standard that is "widely applicable" (ie, to your situation) without any corrupted case citation is "USERY THAT WOULD SHOCK THE JUDGE AS BEING MORALLY BANKRUPT" (that is infact law)

cheap batteries really don't stand up to more expensive ones - but there's "knowing which"

anyway - the tow truck is not in the battery WHOLESALE business, just having them in stock costs them significantly more than it costs sears to keep on a shelf

Years ago I was on a 1200 mile roadtrip and my car broke down on the highway. AAA got a guy to tow me to a car rental place and I was on my way! AAA is so worth it!

They are coming to you, no matter where you are, no matter what time of day. They ae bringing you a battery. They are installing the new battery and taking the old one away. They are going to make sure you can get on your way safely. If that is not worth $200 to you, so be it. Hope you have really good friends or family that are going to trudge out in the middle of the night, go to a WalMart or some other 24 hour store that sells car batteries, bring it to you, and help you change it out in the dark.

+1 ^^^

If I was stranded with a bad battery and someone brought it to me and installed it I would be happy as hell to pay 200 bucks. The guy who brought it out would get a 50 dollar tip as well.

I don't know about batteries but a friend of mine had AAA and used them to tow his car from home bars free. They did it too!

Once I put two double A batteries in my girlfriends butt, I thought it would turn her on.

I was charged with assault with batteries.
The charges were later dropped.
She said she was ever ready.
I thought they were gonna lock me in a dura-cell.
I tried to extract the batteries from her using a rayo-vac.

I think this story is gonna Die-hard.
How did this ever-start?
Thanks Delco.

Great mnemonic that trak auto used to teach their low IQ retard employees.
The Burke location had the dumbest people btw.

I was an executive with Trak Auto.

Herbie Haft used to visit stores and goose all the young girls.

In his Landover warehouse, I saw Napoleon's chandeliers he acquired while in Europe; he installed them in his mansion right off of Mass Ave near the Islamic center.

His hair was blue before blue hair was cool.

Batteries die slowly. When you notice your battery growing weak, go to Sears and buy a battery for $80 - $110 and change it out yourself right there in the parking lot.

Needing a jump start is a different story.

If you don't like the AAA price, don't buy a battery from them. If you like Wally World's price better, buy one from them.

Problem solved.

You're welcome.

Hi there! I don't an expert in this question, usually I go to the service with such questions. By the way I read that if you have good audio system in your car you need to install special audio battery, like example I found XS Power D3400. What do you think about this? Do you have such thing in your car?

Does Walmart drive to your busted-ass car in the middle of the night behind the strip club parking lot? No. Many cars like Mercedes and other imports have large expensive batteries. The battery for my Merc is 130 bucks from Advance Auto Parts.

Dont want to pay AAA make sure to test your battery and alternator monthly like I do.
