This short video shines a light on the democrat controlled school board trying to change school boundaries based on "equity" - but listen at the 1:00 mark.
Superintendent Brabrand says, "In talking with the county executive, if we want to see more money from the county they're going to want to see boundary changes happen sooner rather than later"

It appears FCPS school board has ALWAYS planned new school boundaries based on racial and socio-economic characteristics.

It also sounds like the county executive is going to withhold OUR tax dollars from OUR schools until "equity" boundary changes are made.

The goal:

Take Asian dominated schools, that are the best in the county, and spread the Asians out around into different school districts by splitting them up by race.

Do the same with latinx schools that are at the bottom, and spread them out around different schools.

This way the "gap" between the best and worst schools become narrower, and they say "see, we fixed it!!"

But reality is, the Asian kids will still do better than the rest, it's priority and the parents push them to do well.

The latinx kids will still do bad, their immigrant parents barely speak english and can't help them with school. Their goal is to get their kids manual labor jobs anyways, so kids live up to that expectation.

Nothing will change, except kids get split up from their neighbors, ethnic clusters in neighborhoods are split up from their friends and peers. Individually, no change for a lot of money/work to bus kids around to other not as close schools. Complete waste of money and time.

Better off redrawing borders based on most efficient bus routes.

Oh yeah, if you have students who excel, they may bus you to a school where they get rid of the AP program, so the kids are forced into general ed classes to help "narrow the gap"

It's important to vote, and NOT for progressives who are all clueless

School board HAS to change boundaries. Only idiots believe boundaries would never change. Schools get more students then capacity then boundaries change to accommodate. Ding dong - You all are fools to think otherwise.

Yes, of course boundaries change over time. But, it should be based on efficient busing and communities going to the same school. Not looking at the racial makeup of neighborhoods, and deciding which school you want to put them in because of their race.

Back in the 50s schools looked at race to decide which schools to put them in. We did away with that in the name of equality. Now, the school board thinks they can bring back looking at race and somehow do it better because somehow they are better. Nah, stop looking at race, and treat everyone as equals.
