Grandma and Grandpa can't afford the private school, but are reluctant to pull her out and put her in public school. THEY came up with storyline and got her to play her part in hopes of getting free tuition at the school for the next six years. Someone, probably the girl herself, could not take the pressure of continuing the lie after hearing what was probably happening/going to happen to the boys she accussed and told her grandparents the jig was up.

I would understand if these were different papers, but same paper and likely the same editor. The first story promotes a narrative of hatred and references the races of the girl and the boys. Racism by whites still exists, but these flagrant acts are thankfully rare. They are used to rile up the pity mob and generate gifts from sympathetic people.
It is sad that some blacks will try to push stereotypes of white people. It fosters hate and distrust.
