Actually there Billy Bob, starting pay is almost 20 bucks an hour.

I can work fulltime at McDonalds and get benefits (especially healthcare). Most school bus drivers don't work enough hours (due to how they schedule shifts) to qualify for any benefits. It's good work for additional income from a spouse, but it is not a job for sole income provider.

This is correct. It's also nearly impossible to kick the kids with behavior problems off the bus nowadays, or get them suspended due to bad behavior on the bus. Bus drivers aren't paid nearly enough to have to deal with that crap.

I have a couple questions. Are they union? I thought they cant get fired? How about working on Fridays nights and they are able to watch a FREE FOOTBALL GAME.

I cannot think of a singular job with more responsibility in this country for less pay. Imagine causing an at-fault accident that killed all 50 kids on-board? Shit, school buses don't have seat belts. It wouldn't take much to die in one of those golden coffins...

There is a union, however H/R will not speak to them as they don't recognize any union. Because of that no one will join it and give a union due with someone that H/R will not listen too..
Oh Yes drivers can get fired for the slightest of things. If you are in any management level however you are protected. Yes you can get into the football games free if you bring the team to the game,

I work for the county and my wife drives a bus for the FCPS. Because of that our health insurance cost is 6 dollars per pay period each. Yes 24 dollars a month for family plan kick-ass health insurance. Most of the bus drivers and lunch ladies do the job only for health insurance from the county.
