The accident was bc a Korean lady missed her exit and was backing up to take it.
She was killed.
She owned the massage parlor that Bill clinton would frequent.

66 between 28 and the Fairfax Parkway is a disaster waiting to happen. If you try to enter 66 westbound from the Parkway you only have a short distance to merge and it is partially blocked from your view by the construction which has been going on for years.

There is plenty of room to merge. I personally calculated that the distance we give you moron drivers to merge onto the highway is more than sufficient when the traffic on I-66 is going at it's usual speed of 25MPH.

https://wjla.com/news/local/victim-identified-drivers-charged-i-66-crash-fairfax-county

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (ABC7) — Officials have identified the victim that died in a fiery multi-vehicle crash on Saturday morning on I-66.

Joseph M. Castellano, 28, of Mclean, Virginia died at the scene. His wife, who was in the passenger seat of the Toyota Rav4, was flown to a trauma center in DC and is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Officials say the series of chain-reaction crashes happened at 10:58 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 66 east of Exit 53 (for Route 28).

The crash involved five sedans, one SUV, one pickup truck and a tractor-trailer that overturned. A 2007 BMW sedan was traveling west on I-66 when it struck the vehicle in front of it. The BMW then collided with a westbound tractor-trailer.
The tractor-trailer then collided with several vehicles, to include a Toyota Rav4, before overturning in the roadway.

The Toyota Rav4 ran off the right side of I-66 and over the Jersey wall, at which point it caught fire.

The driver of the BMW, Jonathyn R. Bland, 40, of Centerville, Virginia has been charged with reckless driving. He was transported to Reston Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Shahbaz Singh, 34, of Fairfax, Virginia has also been charged with reckless driving. He was transported to Reston Hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening, injuries.

The three other individuals transported to Reston Hospital - one had serious, but non-life threatening injuries; and other two suffered minor injuries.

BMW drivers are assholes generally.

People that are poor and can only afford little shitty cars (like a RAV 4) tend to be killed when the shit goes bad on the freeway.

Anyone that spends time out there knows that we are inches from this kind of incident on a regular basis. You have ghetto dwellers hitting the roads constantly out for a weekend of niggering - which involves driving as fast as possible, cutting off everyone and doing whatever the fuck they want. Cops are scared to hold them accountable so we'll have lots more of this. If you want to survive, you are going to need something tougher than a RAV 4.

Of course 66 West between 289 and 28 is an accident waiting to happen. The turn lane to 29 North backs up into the right lane of 66 West, effectively making the right lane of 66 West another turn lane. Traffic is stop and go sometimes for a mile or more. Many drivers think they are too important to wait in that line, so they travel slowly in the middle right lane looking for some place to cut in front of many in the right lane. That effectively makes the middle right lane another slow moving turn lane. Then kamikaze mental defectives fly down the left lane and cut in front of everybody to get into the middle right lane, where they suddenly almost stop, waiting to cut in front of the line.

Speeds by lane are (1) right lane: 0-20, middle right lane, 10-30, middle left lane, 40-55, left lane, 55-70.

The vast differences in lane speed coupled with the kamikaze mental defectives make the area very unsafe.

What do the police do about it? They sit in the median running radar on the left lane, not caring about the kamikaze idiots blocking traffic in the middle lanes and the kamikaze mental defectives. In other words, the police are doing nothing to make the area safer.

No wonder so many accidents happen there. RIP to the person who died. I hope the police do something.

I am terribly sorry for the injuries and the death that resulted from this accident. It may be too early to bring up another facet of this story, but here goes. Why on earth would the only major East-West arterial in Northern Virginia be closed for 11 hours as a result of this accident? I mean, think of what has to happen when the State Police show up:

1. Take control of the scene (block traffic, etc.)
2. Ascertain injuries
3. Roll fire and EMT, as needed
4. Stabilize and evacuate injured, deceased
5. Obtain names, statements from witnesses
6. Document accident scene (pictures of scene, vehicles, etc.)
7. Remove damaged vehicles and debris.
8. Re-open to traffic.

Put your own time line on each of these steps, but I bet it doesn't add up to 11 hours. This wasn't a murder mystery for God's sake, it was a traffic accident.

If this was a one-off, I wouldn't raise the issue. But how many times have you seen an accident scene with a fire truck parked across three lanes of traffic for what turns out to be a fender bender?

All I'm saying is that the Virginia State Police need to understand that re-opening the road to vehicles is also a priority. Do your job, do it well, but remember that minimizing disruption by re-opening the road in a timely manner is also priority.

Without addressing all of it and not being familiar with specifics in this case, I can give you some insight into why this shit takes forever.

1) If there is a potential (or if it's known) that the crash results in a fatality, VSP crash recon guys need to do their thing. That's taking a shitload of measurements, calculating speeds, paths of all the vehicles etc... With one car leaving the roadway and an "open and shut" case, that's several hours. With a shitload of cars out there on 66, it's more complicated. This is done for a variety of reasons, but if it was your relative that got killed by some chonger, you need that data to clean them out of cash or lock them up or both.

2) Anything that happens in Fairfax on the interstate get FCFRD out there playing "fill the vest" for as long as humanly possible. Firefighters in Fairfax literally brag about the amount of time they can keep a major road closed. It's like the longer it was closed, the cooler the incident and the bigger their dicks. It's not like that in other counties.

3) The fire truck gets parked across three lanes for the chongers and snowflakes that have to look at everything but where they are driving. If you do not physically block them from running you over by parking a 50,000lb fire truck there, they will kill you and keep going.

It's called "southern efficiency".

Fact--in the Chicago area, crash resulted in a fatality (limo driver smashed into the divider at an off-ramp), they had the interstate shut down for just one hour, which was documented in an NTSB report.

Yep--an accident serious enough to warrant an NTSB investigation and they got the highway opened back up after 1 hour.

The DC area simply doesn't have enough of the people with the kind of work ethic and skills needed to pull that one off.

I’m sure it all has to do with lawyers. Policies implemented for the sole purpose of providing the best defense if sued. Every policy written/implemented is because of this and all of our lives effected by it.
