I need to move a Plasma TV and a few other things between Ashburn and Reston this weekend .I'm looking for a minivan to rent for a few hours to move it in.

Home Depot has cargo trucks, but they won't work. We don't have the box for the TV and it needs to stand vertically the entire time. We need to cover it in blankets and surround it with other stuff so it won't tip over. A truck or fullsize van won't work as the TV will just fly around in all the empty space.

Does anyone know of a business in this area that will rent a minivan for a few hours at a reasonable price?

Uhaul rents pick up trucks and cargo vans for $20 bucks plus mileage.

I'm looking specifically for a MINIvan. I want to fill up the space around the TV with empty boxes and stuff, and to have someone sitting close to it who can watch it and hold onto it so it doesn't tip sideways.

Enterprise will rent you a mini van and pick you up at your home.

Go to your local new car dealer(insert your brand choice here)and take a test drive of a mini van.

Request that you and your moving assistant be able to test drive without a annoying salesperson.

This should get your task done for free.

Return the van and say thanks, we will let you know when we are ready to buy.

Yep. Didn't do the pick up thing, but I needed a car for about 4 hours one day. Went to Enterprise and got a Chrysler 300, not what I wanted or needed but it is what they gave me, for $25. I think they keep a couple of cars around just for occassions like when someone needs something for a really short period of time. Hell, you return it with gas and they probably do not even have to clean it. Easy money for them.

If somebody's gonna be back there with the tv helping to hold it up just rent a van. What's the difference?

Costco Travel has great car rental rates. The best that I have found. You can also do things like Hotwire. A one day rental is probably not expensive. Don’t know about hourly rates.

Expedia is showing about $90 for a minivan short rental. A small SUV is about half that.

If you come to this forum to get help renting a "Mini Van" it would be best for all of us if you stay off the road.

Ran a quote. Still $35-$120 for a four hour rental.

Found a minivan for $38 a day on Hotwire.

Costco was about $80. Stick with Hotwire.
