O-R-I-O-L-E-S! Bring the Birds to Fairfax (not Tennessee!)

Yes. The Orioles currently suck. Attendance of 18k a game isn't a home field advantage.

Fairfax County is an ideal location for the Orioles since we have a baseball hungry population. The Nats belong to DC.

We also have a huge population of cricket starved Pakis & Desis who would love a local team, too.

Imagine! The smell of curry, biryani and goat stew!! It'd be better than Boog's BBQ!!

And who wouldn't bone a sweet Desi Oriole fan?

No thanks. Orioles attendance sucks because the team sucks. It is the same problem we have here with football.

Interesting.

Where would they go in Fairfax?

I'd rather drive cross county to see the Nats play the Os than drive to Bmore.

Trump's right about the rats & blight.

It's been proposed before. Buy out Fair Oaks mall and build a stadium there. It has access to Rt. 50, I66 and many feeder roads. It wouldn't be cheap, but it would not be impossible to extend the metro from Vienna to the new stadium. Plenty of parking, nearby hotels and restaurants.

This is a great idea, why didn't I think of it. Just imagine. It could be funded by diverting the money to employee pay raises. They are slackers and don't deserve 1/2 of what they are paid

You don't deserve half the allowance your mommy gives you. The dump on public employees Schlick is getting old. It always was lame. There are plenty of overpaid people in the private sector.

The private sector is paid an average of about 25% more for performing the same level of work, and the gap is only getting wider. The best and the brightest are still to be found in academia and the public sector. There simply isn't any doubt of that.

Much respect for those who do the work.

The infamous exceptions feed all the stories where work is not done.
