It's ok though...nice white council lady has said that she is "shocked and saddened". No guns in DC, except for my people...and me...and my friends...and the other coloreds that we need to kill each other.

WASHINGTON (ABC7) — A DC Council staffer is behind bars after police say he fired a gun outside of a pop-up marijuana market in Northeast Washington over the weekend, according to police.

According to police, the incident happened at around 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 3 after two suspects discharged firearms at a victim in the 2200 block of 25th Place, NE before fleeing the scene.

On August 10, 24-year-old DaVon Lorenzo Fuller, of Southeast, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm and Destruction of Property.

Fuller, who works for DC councilmember Brianne K. Nadeau, has been placed on administrative leave, according to her office. They released the following statement Monday:

“Our office was informed yesterday about the arrest of our colleague DaVon Fuller, and he has been placed on administrative leave. “We are shocked and saddened by the situation, as it does not reflect the colleague we have come to know. “It is especially difficult given Councilmember Nadeau’s outspoken support for stronger gun violence prevention laws and investment in gun violence prevention programs. We know that easy access to guns can turn petty arguments into potentially deadly confrontations, which is why Councilmember Nadeau wrote and passed the District’s new red flag law to temporarily remove guns from people who are an immediate threat, and why she co-introduced the NEAR Act, the District’s public health approach to public safety.”

That's why DC should be a state.

Yeah like that would solve their problems..... DC just needs to be absorbed by the state of MD, and become just another large city in the US.

while this won't solve any of the inherent problems. it will give the city a larger tax base in which to better mitigate the shitstorm.

or it just becomes another baltimore. either way. it can't get any worse.

But why would Maryland want it? Do you think folks living on the Eastern Shore or out in western MD really want a 600,000+ resident city loading up the state general assembly with a new set of politicos who’ve never lived in or cared about MD? You think legislators in Annapolis want a whole new delegation coming to town pushing a DC agenda, battling rural parts of the state to protect their own wealthy DC turf, and changing priorities for the whole state almost overnight?

They don’t. People in Silver Spring or Bethesda might welcome it, but the rest of the state doesn’t want it, the same way most VA residents wouldn’t want it.

Much of Maryland doesn't want anything to do with Baltimore and the corrupt rejects who run that shit hole. Why would anyone think they'd want to absorb DC also?

I don’t think DC residents would want their tax money being spent on road projects in far-flung places like Harford county or having people in Annapolis make decisions about local real estate development, either.

A better idea is to do what every democratic republic on planet earth does and give them representatives in the legislature.
