Does Your Church Train for a Terrorist Attack?
Posted by: Bubba Malm ()
Date: July 19, 2019 09:07AM

Here’s a noteworthy item from Grace Church’s 2017 minutes, noted without any additional comment, beyond the fact that this comes from a church that was, for years, indifferent to security. Indeed, the infamous Great Flood of 2013 occurred when the 5:00 PM Sunday officiant didn’t even bother to walk the building. Had he done so, and had he checked the downstairs bathrooms (a very common hiding area for people wishing to spend the night in the building), he would have discovered that one of the toilets was overflowing.

Good old St. Dysfunction: A toxic church if there ever was one.

I think they need to train for such action. Your online remarks seem to prove you are some sort of crackpot / psycho / stalker, and are capable of anything including an attack on the church.

Just my 2¢, I have no dog in this fight.

Most churches these days train for terrorism. the problem is there are so many ways to terrorize its impossible to train for all of them. take the recent arson attack in "gun free" japan for example. roadblocks and armed ushers wont stop $100 worth of pool chemicals from seeping through the air vents during a service.

The best way to prevent terrorism is to clean your own house. of course some terrorists are just plum loco and cannot be reasoned with but in yemen american drones blow up entire weddings - I wouldn blame them if they came and blew up a couple churches now and then. all religion is irrational superstition, I dont worry about being blown up in a church because im not a superstitious idiot. I dont worry about getting shot up in the mall because Im not a filthy hedonist who shops at victoria's secret and drinks $12 coffee. I dont worry about getting beheaded by MS13 because BUILD THAT WALL! MAGA!!

No, the whole point of terrorism is to disrupt daily life and make people afraid of simple tasks. Did you stop flying after 9/11? Stop riding the Metro after 7/7?

From what I’ve seen on this site, there is an unstable lunatic who has a grudge against this particular church, and from what he’s written I wouldn’t put it by him to do something dangerous.

Here’s the fun part: it’s not my church, but if it were I would feel the need to carry concealed, which I have a permit for. BUT, thanks to the democrats, one of the few places you aren’t allowed to carry is a church while a service is going on. Another instance of disarming the law-abiding, while the law-breakers get the chance to slaughter.

The only difference between open and concealed carry in Virginia churches is that, if you carry concealed, you must have a concealed weapons permit.

Given the circumstances we live in, it is quite natural to have churches, synagogues, and mosques train against potential terror attacks. For instance synagogue in Pittsburgh could have done better if they've had trained beforehand.

The same goes for parents. They should train their children and themselves against potential child molestation in churches.

There is nothing wrong in any of these precautions.

We’ll just keep waiting.

In the meantime, delusional folks who cannot differentiate between truth and fantasy should not be permitted to carry weapons, concealed or otherwise.

sadly, the only way to be sure they will stop molesting is by making a clear example. parishioners and others who have turned a blind eye or even covered for abusive clergy will pay attention when they start breathing in chlorine gas. choke on that! the punishment should fit the crime

i think i met malm once. he definitely gave me con artist vibes but not pedo vibes. now, If you want to see a parish with a serious risk of "terrorism" (more like "vigilanteism" against pedos} go to OLOL in arlington... recommend you bring a gas mask cause you never know when that "psycho kid" will have all of his required materials in order

Sucks when folks eventually realize they’ve been played.

cops have guns to shoot active shooters. cool story bro. but no one is going to sweep the entire ventilation system for chlorine gas every morning. no one is going to look under every pew for IEDs before every mass. no one is going to do shit unless something drastic happens....
