What are your thoughts on panhandling?

I hate it. I used to associate it with Maryland but they are all over Fairfax now. They go to the richest areas and people who give them cash are stupid. The number of them that smoke cigarettes (which are what now, $5 a pack?) is unbelievable. I saw one the other day get bills from 4 people in a two minute time, probably one dollar bills but maybe a 5 in ther. Either way, that’s well over $100/hr pace which would be 200k a year if they actually worked at it full time. Like the article says, there are good programs in the county. No one should have to beg for anything. If you give them money, you are doing them a disservice, probably fueling their habit and preventing them from getting the help they need.

This is a racist and hateful measure designed specifically to further marginalize our most at-risk residents.
We have spent that last 30 years passing measures and ordinances - and ignoring many laws - in order to make Fairfax the shithole county that we know it can be. Beggars, gypsies and panhandlers at every turn are key to achieving our objectives. If this horrible measure passes, hopefully we can triple the number of beggars in parking lots, inside grocery stores and restaurants.

We think America is free country. When clan migrate to US from Romania, never we think problem to make money to live. We no hurt people. We no steal. Why no welcome for we make money on corner?

Liberal areas of the US cannot handle the effects of their policies:
-decriminalization of drugs
-taxing big business to pay for these budget shortages
-SNAP food programs
-restore voting privilege for felons
So, these rats come here to ffx county.
But, the more blue VA becomes, we will see tent cities along Clarendon blvd within the next 10 years.
