Why are so many homes for sale in Clifton?
Posted by: ClyftonObserver ()

The population of Clifton is around 282; I've noticed there are over 100 homes for sale.

When you drive through Clifton, it seems like every house is for sale!

What's going on?

The devil worship and shitting out in the open has finally turned people off. That place is a total shithole. Trump should build a wall around it.

Septic fields, congested roads with no alternative routes and alcoholic republicans. What's not to love?

That’s sort of like saying people in Yemen are glad liberals don’t live there. Think anyone gives a shit? How comfy is mommy and daddy’s basement in Clifton?

The federal tax reform with the $10K cap on SALT deductions hit. People with means are voting with their feet. Taxes are too high here. If the State and local government stuck to the basics (Schools,Public Safety, infrastructure) and not all the liberal bullshit, taxes would be a third less.

Celebrate the diversity, Shaqueeta, Manuel and Mohammed...they ain't footing the bill.

No one sells their million dollar home to save a couple grand in taxes, selling, buying and moving costs alone are well over $50k. We have pretty lower property tax rates around here. So unless they are buying a home with a much lower value, they will hit the limit.

But it's all B.S anyways as the more desirable parts like Vienna, City of Falls Church, North Arlington have been seeing very nice appreciation. Clifton is in a shitty location.

The legal town of Clifton (which is not part of Fairfax County) is only one square mile or so; but the region that real estate agents call "Clifton" is that plus dozens of square miles of Fairfax County.

They know Clifton is the next area for HIGH-DENSITY development in the county. All the rich people are moving to Loudoun or Clarke, or Middleburg where density restrictions are very strict.

The FFX county planning commission has turn Fairfax county into a ghetto with high-density buildings.

Even better is the mass exodus from Tyson Corners.

They closed their elementary school years ago because not enough people live there.

96 Clifton Homes for sale at https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-search/Clifton_VA

Why? Most families relocate during the summertime.

Does almost 50% of a town's population tend to move each summer?

Again, there is the town of Clifton (small) and then all of Clifton (large). 50% would represent all of Clifton houses for sale/town of Clifton houses...and that’s just not accurate.

Not quite sure what you are saying....Attached is the 106 properties for sale in Clifton - it seems like a lot considering how much less dense Clifton is compared to surrounding areas...

The fact remains, there are many streets in Clifton where almost every home is for sale -- I've been fishing in Clifton for almost 10 years now, and have never seen so many homes for sale

The county should buy the homes and allow the illegal immigrants to stay rent-free.. More democratic voters to keep FFCO Board in power. Wait, how insensitive I am.

Clifton has underperformed Fairfax County - https://www.zillow.com/clifton-va/home-values/

It has barely kept pace with inflation.

106 properties doesn't sound like a lot. Summertime is the time to sell a house.

I went to an open house in Clifton this weekend. The owners had already left, and a staging company had come in with all sorts of furniture. I wish I had known that the toilets were decorative as well, because when the diarrhea hit, it was bad. I told my realtor that someone before us had destroyed the toilet, but I’m sure she knew it was me, since I was in there 20 minutes making all sorts of noises.

Buddy, why don't you trust articles from the internet? However, I do really understand you as I read a lot of articles about property taxes in California (I'm from Boston) and when I moved to California the property taxes differ a lot from those written in the articles... Seriously, California has one of the lowest tax rates (one percent) in the country, however, the actual tax liability can be substantial, and, moreover, the price on the property is one of the highest in the country... Moreover, take into account the fact that you, as a new homebuyer, may pay additional cost of any HOA fees and Mello-Roos taxes if it will be applied to your property... To be honest, facts that I know about living in California and its property taxes match the information from this site https://ie-realestate.com/ of the article "California Property Taxes"

Here's hoping that you have a group of homeless people take up residence in your backyard shed and you are not allowed to evict them because...well...California. Enjoy.
