What happened to Quiznos? They used to be all over Northern Virginia and were ten times better than Subway. What do you miss most about that chain?

They got squeezed out by Jimmy John's, Firehouse Subs, Jersey Mike's, Potbelly's. Shucks, even Panera Bread.

Subway owns the low-end semi-healthy sandwich market, and the ones above share Fast Casual. There's still a Quiznos in Annandale Shppping Center though if you are hankering for an oldie (https://www.annandaleshoppingcenter.com/tenant-listing)

There are still a few left. They filed for bankruptcy & closed a lot of places, but there are still a couple left here and there.

I miss the Quiznos that was near us.

But, we’ll probably see the same thing with all the burger shops soon.

not really. sure, there’s a lot of competition, but the Quizno’s parent company used a terrible business model that killed a lot of their franchises. A bunch of franchises even had a major lawsuit against them cost the company tens of millions to settle.

Poor corporate strategy is the real reason they’ve failed. They had competitive growing business until they started gouging their investors.

What I didn’t like about Quiznos is they weighed the meats in front of you!
Subway had the owners come in early Sunday morning and wax paper the proportions.
Quiznos was way more expensive and their gimmic was “toasting”

They sucked. So does Subway but Subway was cheaper.

Way too expensive for being just a step above Subway. Their subs were the girth of my cock and would run you over $10 with drinks and chips. If I'm paying $10+ I'll go to a real sub shop.

that goes back to the franchise-gouging i mentioned earlier. around the peak of their expansion, the corporate execs instituted a policy that required all locations to buy all their supplies from one of the corporate subsidiaries. from food, chips, soda, and even down to stuff like paper products, straws, etc. and of course the stuff was more expensive and franchise owners weren’t allowed to negotiate better deals elsewhere. prices went up, store profits started to dry up, and the franchisees even had to honor all the great coupon discounts printed up by their corporate office. it was a boneheaded model and hundreds of stores closed up.

i think they’re owned by someone else now, and they have good enough name recognition that they could make a rebound, although probably not to where they once were.

Jersey Mike's sucks. I've tried them twice, and there is no flavor to their sandwiches.
