What is the deal with the compression adjustment raise we are getting July 1st? Some people are getting a lot more than others and a few people are getting nothing. Everyone is getting the same COLA raise and most of us are getting a merit raise.
I know two guys that have the same job title, one is getting a $1200 compression raise and the other is only getting $650. What gives??

Sorry you are only getting three raises this year, that must be tough. I noticed that Northam gave all state and county employees july 5th off with pay so you leeches can have a 4 day weekend. Enjoy asshole.

My compression raise was only 600 bucks. Really getting tired of getting treated like shit by FCPS. As soon a something good opens up in Arlington I am out of here.

Balancing the budget on the backs of the employees again. When the good people are gone, they're gone. They'll be replaced with "diverse" employees and shift to crisis style government. Things will slowly grind to a halt as the dwindling amount of competent employees leave and won't be around to jump from crisis to crisis fixing the fuckups of their "diverse" colleagues.

It depends on your years of service and a comparison of your salary to a similar employee in the private sector. They try to keep us at 80% of the pay that private sector counterparts get. I was happy with my compression, I got a $1200 compression raise plus a 2% COLA adjustment and a 1% merit raise.

Why Arlington? Go to PG or DC.

I got a six thousand dollar raise. Not bad for nine months “work.”

I'm not complaining about getting three raises this past summer. After a few decades of getting all these little raises they really add up. You got to keep in mind too that 34 dollars a week for fantastic family plan health insurance is a huge benefit that those in the private sector do not see, they are paying 5 times that much in most cases.
