It's Opening Day -- for the new Best Buns Café on Leesburg Pike across from Tysons. It's in the now redone space where the Chesapeake Bay Seafood House used to be. Great sweets and sandwiches from the place that does the baking for all your favorite Great American Restaurants. And this is just the beginning, as Patsy's American and Randy's Prime Seafood and Steaks will be opening right next door in the coming weeks. Quite an exciting time for food lovers!

Not sure if Best Buns itself will become a destination place, but it will be awfully tempting to stop by and grab a breakfast bag when dining at either Patsy's or Randy's once those open.

There are plenty of upscale restaurants in and around Tysons already. There are NONE in Falls Church City, and yet GAR chose to triple up on Tysons. I wonder what that says about the Little City? I hear they're going to get a new eat-in movie theater and an eatery and pour house soon though. Well, in 2021 sometime. Maybe.

Falls Church is total drive-thru territory. There's nothing there worth stopping for. It's just something that goes by out the window as you drive from Point-A to Point-B.

Parking in Falls Church can be questionable. Why would an eatery which would expect a large portion of their patrons to be coming by car choose to locate in the City of Falls Church where they would have to provide on site parking, when they can instead locate to shopping centers near Tysons where there is already parking. Say what you want about the dining choices at Springfield Town Center, but at least you can be sure of finding nearby free parking if you are going there. BtW same message to Fairfax City and parts of Vienna plus most of Arlington.

The reason GAR restaurants do so well is due to the fact that they hire the best managers and chefs. They don’t hire people like Mike Isabella who drove his empire to the ground

A ton of my co workers hated her and talked shit but she always treated me professionally.

It is inevitable that any company’s original vision fades awayyyyyy.
Just wish the restaurants kept up.

A number of GAR stores are understaffed at the moment, partly because their standards remain so high.

Patsy's American is getting a lot of positive comment in the area food press. They're taking it to 2:00 AM now over there, and it looks like the GAR team has another hit on its hands!
