Meanwhile an overwhelming majority of the Somalis who came to the U.S. were in this country before Obama took office. Over 60% of Somali immigrants are living in just ten metro areas, and only one of these top ten metro areas for Somalis, Minneapolis & St. Paul, is located in the upper Midwest/Plains States. Meanwhile South Dakota is less than 2% black. So whatever effort was made to shift voting patterns in South Dakota by sending Somalis there has failed miserably.
