I'm on the do not call list but this company in Reston Telemeyer marketing keeps calling my phone wanting donations for Republicans. Fuck Republicans! They don't give a shit about anybody but themselves. Selfless bastards.

Lying to attain political office. Care to clarify?
As far as "taking" people's tax money, we elected those to choose what to do with that money. Spending it on issues you think are important can be said of the Republicans, so you really didn't make a point. Lots of blathering, name-calling and some CAPITAL LETTER usage, but no real point.

Yep, I was getting calls political calls daily during the presidential election, despite being on the do not call list. I know I wasn't the only one, I guess since it is political and not business they aren't subject to telemarketing rules.

Yep, I was getting calls political calls daily during the presidential election, despite being on the do not call list. I know I wasn't the only one, I guess since it is political and not business they aren't subject to telemarketing rules.

Political and charity cause are exempt from the do not call list. But if you request to be put on their own in house do not call list - they must oblige.
It will just take 90 days or something before that kicks in.

It would be presumed that being on that list will make it so your number will not be available to telemarketers.
The reality is the list is sold to telemarketers so they can see who they are not allowed to call for that set amount of time. Recall that one has to resubmit to the list every few years. If one fails to renew, they are no longer forbidden territory.
Also, what is stated above is correct. Any political or charitable cause is exempt.

The law was changed a few years ago so that the first submission is now permanent. You don't have to resubmit.
